Hey all! Got a Protege5 with an intermittent misfire; gives codes p0300 and p0660. Replaced the plugs and wires (except the coils) and cleaned the EGR valve, no change. Sometimes she fires up fine and will drive a few miles, mostly she just misfires or idles very roughly. I'm kind of low budget and don't have much time to drop the tank and take a chance on the fuel filter not being the issue, as I've read that the filter is supposedly a "lifetime" filter and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what your solution was? The car has 165k miles thanks to my sister and unfortunately was not regularly maintained, now it's my turn to breath some life back into this car!
