i'd be going after the dealership since they didn't inform you about the recall obviously. but they will just turn around and say....suck it its been 11 years, maybe if you had brought us the car for service we would have told you.
either way, you could have just bought an engine for $500 instead of being bent over with nearly twice that in repair bills. IMO you are up crap creek without a paddle.
