2003.5 mp5 4,500 miles REMAN ENGINE

reman better than new?? tell that to my reman. tranny which lasted all of 10,000km before it died too.....I begged and pleaded for a new one for the 3rd tranny....nope...no can do. f'n mazda.

The reverse fork in my tranny was fubared (it was stuck to the magnet on the bottom..) so with out trying, when down shifting from 5 to 4, it would just slide down to R, grinding, not a pleasant sound..

They replaced all the gears for mt, feel slike it's brand new again..

The thing is, I just has worn in the other gears, had 11,000 Km on it..

Good luck in the engine, don't give in, or tell them you want the warranty on the power train to start again, from scratch..

No matter what they do the waranty should start from new for the powertrain. If the remanufactured motor is supposed to be as good as the new one they put in then under logic the waranty should start new. I would still fight for the new engine. You had hardly any miles on it.

You can fight for a new powertrains and engines, however this will rarely happen. It is not a Mazda thing, but just general practice.
Also the new item is given a new warrenty when placed it, it is not depandant on the previous warrenty in most cases.

Waiting for a responce from the dealer

Hopefully I will hear from the dealer today. I am starting to kinda miss my car. There was just a big article in the local paper today about the lemon law in WI. Four attempted fixes or a unresonable amount of time out of service in one year constitutes a refund or comparable car replacement. :) As of tomorrow at 4 pm it will be total of 10 days for the knocking engine, and 1 day for the wire falling of the starter. 11 days out of 75, or 15% of the days that I have owned this car it has been at the dealer.(jerkit) (blackp5) (piss)

Ask them to give you a whole brand new car. Even though they may give you a brand new engine, they'll **** up somethin' inside....:(

MAZDA What ****** UP COMPANY

Well the dealer called yesterday. They told me I could come and pick it up since MAZDA has determined after having the car for 7 days there is nothing wrong with it. The dealer said I feal sorry for you because I would not want a car that sounds like that either. MAZDA considers the noise my car is makeing to be that of the cold engine rattle. Did MAZDA have there head up there ass when they designed this car. I will never ever purchase another MAZDA or let anyone I know purchase one. I guess they do not care about customer satisfaction at all, if they are going to make people live with this noise and not do anything about it. MAZDA this ones for you!!(fu)

You could always trade the car in at a mazda dealership. Then when they say something about the noise the car makes you can show them the service ticket and tell them its normal. They can't ding you on resale if thats the way the car is supposed to sound according to Mazda. You might want to talk to the attorney general maybe. I feel for you, this sucks on sooo many levels. There has to be something or someone you can talk to. If you keep taking it to the dealership for this problem will it fall under the lemon law?

I am not sure returning to the dealer with same noise will do anything, because Mazda says this is normal. I was going to call MAZDA again and talk to a rep put I did not feel like hearing another line of bulls***.

Call the local area rep for Mazda repairs and have him meet you at the dealership to listen to your car and a new one on the lot. If they sound the same then there is no problem and that's the way it sounds, if they sound very different then ask him how they can think that the engine is alright if it sounds so different. You may also want to videotape and record the whole conversation and engine noise so that you will have some real solid evidence if you have to take them to court over it. My bet is that once the area rep see's that you are going to tape and record eveything that he will cave in and take care of it. Also be sure to let him know that you will tell your side of the story on the web and ask him if they really want that much bad publicity on a national and wolrd wide scale over someting that is obviously wrong.

Usual warnings. Make sure you do all of this in a calm and mater of fact manner so that they know you aren't being irrational and that you are dead serious.

same thing with transmissions. a rebuilt one is better. all the parts are new, its been tested.
A remfg engine is fine.
