2000 lx touring vs 2000 es

Hey,

New to the forums & i need some info. I'm wondering what the differance is between the LX touring package & the ES for 2000 are. The car I'm looking at has full power options, moonroof, 15 alloys, side air-bags & a rear spoiler in midnight blue mica. The engine is 1.8 ltr. I havn't seen a ton of the touring package LX's, so I'm a little confused what the differance is between this & the ES is.

I'm assuming the car you were looking at was the ES...
I'm not dialed in on the specifics of the Touring package but I did look at the '00s on the lot before I bought my '01. As far as I know in 99-00 the ES was the ONLY car to come with the 1.8L engine, this is really what I was after as the 1.6L in the DX and LX was awfully week. (WOW I'm prob goin' to get flamed for saying that (enguard) )
Most people on this forum agree that, stock, the 1.8L is just as fast as the 2.0L, though this is most likely due to the weight gain in the later cars...

many of the 2.0 liter mods will bolt up to the 1.8 without a problem as well

LX 14 steelies

ES 1.8 liter
LX 1.6 liter

The car I'm looking at has a 1.8L engine, 15" mags, spoiler, moon & power pacjakge, indentical to the ES right? Well the model decal on the side of the car is LX. I'm wondering if it's some weird Canadian thing (I'm in Vancouver, B.C.) & the ES was badged as an LX Touring in Canada for 2000. When hunting for protege I found loads of 2001 ES's, but no 2000. My mind is basically made up on the car, it's in mint shape with only 60,000 Km's (37,000 miles) on it, but I'd just like to clear up what the hell I'll be driving.
