2014 CX-5 AWD GT w/Tech Sky Blue
I'm waiting to get 2014 model but I'm already researching 2" hitches for my new vehicle.

Etrailer has 3 different 2" hitches. Two are very similar in design (DrawTite and Hidden Hitch 6 bolts install) and one from Curt has only 4 bolts and it's the cheapest. I want one the is hidden the most. If all are the same in this aspect, are there any cons to only 4 bolts design?

Any suggestions?

What class are they? Maybe class I and II have 4 attachment points and III has 6? Hmmm since I'm looking at hitches as well I'll be interested in the differences myself. Hit the Googles me thinks...

I don't know how any mfgr could rate a CX-5 hitch as class III as the car is only rated for 2k# towing. Therefore, by definition anything that goes on it cannot pull more than a class II load. For my money, I'll be going with Curt as I had one on my Nissan Frontier XE (rated for no more than a 3500# class II load) and they make a terrific product.

Thanks for the input, I saw their stuff on Auto Anything and the price looked great.

I'm going to use the hitch for cargo carrier and bike rack (which I already have). Both require 2" receiver. I guess I will go with Curt since the installation is easier and it's cheaper.

Curt mfg makes great quality hitches. Have one on my other car for 5-6 years and no rust or any other issues.

If someone has Curt 2" hitch installed, I'd be interested to see a picture.

there are some posts on here with user installed and even Curt has step by step instruction with CX-5 photos within it along with the finished install

I just shopped Amazon and ordered the Curt ClassII hitch and the Curt wiring kit. Total came to 153.70 with free shipping. Not bad.
When I get it installed I'll post my impressions of the product.

Hmm I always thought the Curt hitch was a 1.25" hitch. Didn't know it was a 2". I guess I"ll get one myself too!
