2.3l MZR Engine into the 2?

Guys i am going to tell u my secret . I am using mazda3 1.6 pistons which are slightly concave and have shorter connecting rods. They fit perfectly and give a 3mm clearence from the face of the block cylinder to the face of the piston that way i used the oem gasket . And there you have it low compression and a very durable engine 1.2 bar boost and running like a dream

I was thinking about this the time that i turbocharged mine because there are forged con rods for the 1.6 mzr on the market.
The connecting rods have 5.45mm difference but i cant find any info about the pistons.
Have you measured the CR that you are running with this setup?

Actually i didnt measure the CR after this setting , but i am guessing around 8:0 because at 1.2 bar boost i am not having any engine trouble what so ever , the cool thing is that the mazda 3 1.6 has the same part number for the piston rings and metal set conn rod so you just replace the pistons and you are good to go
