I was going to get these in 17x8 because they look good and are lightweight but changed my mind at the last moment because a forged set went on sale.

Yes I have to keep the same height, width and within +/-0.25" offset to stay in the stock category. I assume that was what you were asking.
I am pretty sure that I will go with Alleggeritas for the slicks and eventually some Ultraleggras for the daily/rain set.

No, I meant stock wheels. They are the same height, width, and even better within +/-0.00" offset.

LOL... I would just assume get the benefit of a lighter wheel and something that looks a little better.

get ms6 or rx8 wheels....both better looking than stock and i know at least the rx8 wheels are lighter

Those are still heavier than loads of wheels you can buy in stock size. Less unsprung weight = better acceleration and handling
