Shouldn't be a problem as that combo would only be outwards of mine by about 8mm (depending on brand/tire's actual cross section). I have 215's on a 7.5 at 48mm and there's tons of room, so much that I'll be trying 235'2 or 245's when the stockers wear out.

Your speedo will be off by just over 2%, which means at an actual 60mph your speedo would need to read 61.2, so well within reason.

235/40 is what i have with mine (size exact wheels size) and it fits and works fine. its really close to stock diameter too (a lot closer than 225/40)

the tires are alredy mounted w 225/40 and the price is good. 80% left but it has the same treadwear rating of 320 as our origionals so in a year ill be replacing tires and then ill try and add tpms

lol same issue man. i just ordered a set of volks 18x7.5 +43.. that shiet better fit, i'll make it fit

I have a set of Drifz 505's 18X7.5 +42 w/ 225/40/18 tires. Speeds above 60mph cause the steering to be unstable. I wouldn't recommend an offset that aggressive.. I'm actually going to put my stockers back on once they arrive in the mail until I have enough money to buy the Light weight Forged Mazdaspeed wheels.

oh s***, unstable? meaning it can't be fixed by a balance or alignment?

sounds exactly like a wheel balancing issue .. its not being caused by an offset issue

get your wheels rebalanced :)

Could also be a hubcentric issue if your wheels don't have the correct bore diameter to center themselves on the center hub... If the wheel is not hubcentric, then you can get hubcentric spacers from just about any wheel/tire place that sells rims (online or local). I think Autozone also carries them.

yep. or u could call any wheel dealer (reliable one ) and they'll tell u exactly what u need

Well, it was fine at first, it started happening after I got my tires rotated for the first time. So I'm pretty sure it's not a hub centric issue; I'm going to get them re balanced as suggested to see it that takes care of it. However, I did hear that too aggressive off an offset can cause shakiness in the steering amongst other things so I wouldn’t be too surprised if it is indeed because my wheels aren’t within specs and my suspension is finally giving in but who knows.. I appreciate the advice though :)

Thanks.

i need to steep up to 235/40 these 225/40 are to small makes my wheel wells look to big about an 8 mm diffrence in size probably need to get it lowered an inch
