I don't have any pics yet but they are Flik Wasp w/polished lip. www.edgeracing.com is where they are prices were pretty good. I thought 40 was a little high but wasn't too sure (poke)

ok the offset is +42

that's a pretty low offset with a 225 width, you've gotta be getting awfully close to the rear fender, if not already in a position to rub if you were lowered 2", or carrying a bunch of stuff in your car, or cornering... or going over bumps

any advice to avoid issues? I don't think that I will be lowerinf any time soon but do occasionally go for groceries and pet food. Any way that I can check to see if there is rub, like have someone sit in back or put weight there and see if inner fender lip hits tire? BTW thanks for all the help, it is much appreciated (thumb) (first)

On my P5 slammed with 215/35/18's I have a 50mm offset on 7.5" rim with about .200" clearance to the fender and .200" to the coilovers. Different brand tires also have wider more square profile so be aware of this. As in a Toyo vs. Pirelli 215/35.

Yeah when i had the same rims, and my pirelli's no problems, but with my toyo proxes, they are a little more squared off, so they rub a tiny bit in the back.

short of getting new tires or wheels, rolling the rear fender is the only way to make sure you aren't going to rub

17's here 215-45-17's is all the tire you'll need to make that thing handle like its on rails just invest in some good rubber to go with um later!!!!!

any other size and they wouldn't guarentee fitment. I have had a few issue's with their customer(lack of)service and don't want to go through the hassle of reshipping. They are closed for the weekend so once mr. sun wakes up I am going to go out and take a closer look. Probably end up rolling the fenders. Has anyone done this? I searched the site and didn't find much info. I am wondering(stupid thought) if the whole fender needs to be done or just the top of fender. Anyone else hear of anyone running 225's? I seem to be the odd man out. I love the stance it has now, they really fill the well out(have pics hopefully in few hours) and does handle sweet(a little rough ride-might lower psi)

(rant) (rant) God I feel like such an ass!!! I have been agonizing or this friggin tire issue all night and morning and come to find out they screwed up and I am the Dumbf**k that didn't check the shipment!! I will back up for 1 sec. I ordered 2 sets of wheels from this company, the first for my audi. In that shipment 1 of the 4 wheels was lost somewhere (boom07) (ups) anyways when tracking the wheels i noticed that 1 was listed as an exception, I contacted said company and they said that if it doesn't arrive within a couple of days to call them. this was on wednesday(b4 thanksgiving) tires show up at 6:15(only 3) I called them to let them know and I find out that they are closed until the following monday longstory short, they have been jerking me around for a couple of weeks. I am still sitting here ranting w/the 3 tires next to me and have been told that they have sent a replacement. fastforward to this past week after ordering the second set, getting tracking #'s arguing with the man in shipping and taking lots of meds so I don't kill, I patiently wait for friday the 2nd(when the second set is to arrive). I figure with ups they won't come until late, but around 3:30 i heard the rumbling of the truck, dashed outside and wallah 4 brand new sneakers for the baby. Talk about a kid at x-mas, got out the floor jack and wrench and within 15-20 min. they were on on it looke sweet. anyhow you all know the rest until now, Iwas poking around just trying to see where the tire size problem was so I went back to their site and come to find out THEIR FITMENT POLICY CALLS FOR A FRIGGIN 215/45/17, NOT THE FRIGGIN 225/45 THAT IS ON THE SHIPPING ORDER!!!!!!!!!! So now once again I have to sit here and try to figure out what to do. Any advice and sorry about the length of this I need to go take a pill!!

sorry to hear that

even with 215 width you may still want to look into rolling the fenders - if the tire catches the fender the wrong way, it could do some nice damage that would require body work...

if they give you the option, you might consider going to a 205/45-17 if they have that available (and I can't see how they would not guarantee that fitment, as it is narrower than the one they're recommending)

another thing to consider is that each tire brand/model varies slightly - one brand of 215/45 might fit and another might not

if you really want to check it, one way is to pull the rear strut, remove the spring and reinstall it - put the wheel on and push it up into the wheel well... you'll see pretty quick if it's going to rub (an easier way, of course, is to get 5 of your friends to sit in the back seats and hatch and see what it looks like when the tire starts to tuck... if you can still fit a credit card or something all around the outside of the tire, you're probably ok)

just came back from store(took other car) and inspected the rear wheels, there is at least 11/2 gap between wheel and lip can't see how it is rubbing, but looked at outside edge of tire and saw a little shine-like a rub would cause. I just don't know if I should just roll the fender lip(which are very narrow) and live with it or take them off and send them back for replacements, or take them off and send both sets back and start looking all over again. The only problem with starting all over again is trying to find the mesh style at this price(930.00) for the set w/pirelli's I looked at tirerack and the asa's they have are a couple of hundred more

if you do roll the fenders, I'd recommend having them done professionally... they heat the paint so it doesn't crack and can do a nice, uniform job

thanks for the advice, I will wait until monday morning to hear from both my credit card company and from the tire place to find the quickest and most beneficial(for me)solution to this
quick edit: while cleaning the cars and driveway I figured I would get some pics you can see the gap on the front and rear and then see the marks on the last pic

Did u drop your car? Cuz those 16's look small.

I ride on 18's ~100 miles a day 7 months a year...
this is how I would explain it; if you are a driver than can look 500 feet ahead and make corrections depending on how rough the terrain is then go for the 18's, otherwise go with the 17's that will have a bit more sidewall fles and you really won't notice the performance improvement from 17's to 18's. It really depends on your driving and the conditions of the roads you drive on. Having 18, 19 or even 20's it ias all about looks and not perfromance. For performance for a set of lightweight 16's...
