I'm looking at wheels from Tire Rack. They are 17x7 and only 14.1 lbs each. That would be 11 lbs lighter than stock. The offset is 42mm, would that be a problem? Anyone here have these? Do you think maybe they are too light?

You can never have too light of wheels, as long as they are strong. They should work fine. A forum member here (silversurfer3) has 17x8 +40 offset Volk TE37's with 225/50R17 tires and has no problems with rubbing. Go for it.

Anyone else chime in, please. I want to order them but don't fill comfortable yet. If they don't fit I'm screwed.

I found the same rims in 50mm offset. I'm going to order them in a couple of weeks.

Thanks.

I wouldn't bother with a 17x7. That is the same width as the stock wheel. A 17x8 with a 50mm offset fit perfectly. I am using a 235/45-17 tire. I am going to try a 245/45-17 next. That size is closer to the stock tire size.
