I'd like to get a set of gunmetal Motegi FF6s for my p5 but I'm not sure they'll fit.

They are 17x7 +42. According to Rishie's recipie this "barely makes it" with a 205/40 tire. Has anyone actually done this and confimed that it won't rub? I don't really want to buy these wheels and then have to roll my fenders.

I'm also lowered on an Eibach pro kit.

nope, +45 or higher dude. +42, ull rub for sure - chris

I was gonna say you'd make it but not if you're lowered. I'm running 205/55/16 on 16x7 with +40 offset. It's fine as long as you don't have passengers. I'm not lowered though (although I'm in an MSP - which might be lower than a regular Protege...not sure).

But long story short, I'll agree with the guy above - it probably won't work since you're lowered.

Thanks for the replies.

Hmmm.... Rod - when you say shaved do you mean you rolled the fender lip back or actually had sheet metal cut? Did you do it yourself? I dunno why but that scares me.

i'll be getting +42 rims mounted with 205's soon hopefully... i'll be back with a definitive answer. i used to have +40 rims mounted with 205's lowered with eibachs and only rubbed with a full load and while taking a turn. hopefully, with me running +42 and a little negative camber (how much is to be determined... but i'm gonna try for -1.5 degrees again... got a little off after my run in with some cacti) will clear me from rubbing.

Ok.... I think you two guys have given me enough confidence to go ahead and try this. What the hell - they're the wheels I want anyway and I'll roll the fenders if need be. Thanks guys... and good luck Tonka I hope it fits.

some guys on the Toronto board ran lowered with 17x7 with +42 and 205/40's with no problems.

tonkabui...........-1.5 degrees is a lot. -1 to -0.8 will be plenty of negative camber. Be prepared for prematur wear. After 22,000km I need new rubber!!!

hee hee... but -1.5 degrees gives great cornering abilities. now that you mention it... i think it was -1 degrees i was running earlier. if i remember correctly, my installer told me if i wanted to run anything more than -1 degrees, i would need camber bolts. damnit... it's been over a year. i need a new alignment anyway. once the new wheels come in, i'm getting the alignment.

oh yeah... hee hee... 37 pounds for exel radius with yokohama avs sports. woot woot.

Doesnt make much of a difference now since you aleady ordered them, but i have +40 offset with 17x7" wheels with 205/40 tires with aboslutely no rubbing. I also have coilovers set near its lowest point.

running whatever is left of my negative camber from the first alignment, +42 offset on 205/40/17's and no rubbing issues yet. i'll keep you updated. i'm probably going to run camber bolts just for fun.

With out camber plates, you need camber bolts to get more than -1* of camber on the Protege...

Lameness for sure.

I'm running ~-2* on the front with camber plates. Mad tight cornering YO!!!1

Need bolts for the rear.
