17" MZ3s rims, tire fitment

i wanna get 225/45 r17 for my 3.

stock tire is 205/50 r17 im pretty sure.

any chance the 225 will fit ok on the stock rim? if so, would the 225's rub if i drop it 1" to an 1.5"

btw i plan on getting the stock rims powder coated black chrome

225 45 series tire will fit, but your speedometer may be off by a couple mph since you are changing the overall height of the wheel/tire assembly. you shouldnt rub on stock wheels with an 1" to 1.5" drop. given a smaller offset with that drop, maybe, but still doubtful. you sir are clear!

The stock rim is 6.5", so you may not be able to get a 225mm wide tire on it. The minimum rim width would be 7".

also, my speedo will only be off by about .3% so im not really worried, im more worried about the 6.5" wide rim working with the 225 tire....if not ill just get new rims. in that case i need a ??mm offset, ive searched and found 48 55 and inbetween, what would handle the best, and be closest to stock, taking into consideration that i want 225's on it.

you'll be able to fit the tire on that size wheel. it may not be flush with the lip, but it will fit JUST FINE. there's not that much difference between a 225/45 and a 215/45, just a little taller and a little wider.

i would assume that i wont run into bulge issues because 225/45 is such a stiff sidewall, also considering that im getting uhp's i should be ok? and thanks slowtheory, i kinda want more than one opinion, cuz others have said it will fit, but will buldge....just wanna clarify if they would be a good choice. also, while im on the topic, what do you guys think of the general tire exclaim uhp's
