Hey guys I have. Issue I'm a little confused about I bought my side a 09 cx9 Gorbachev good deal on it .... Love the truck but when I bought it it had pulsation on the front brakes... So I put new pads and rotors and now I keep hearing this clunk sometimes when I brake.... I greased the pads and sliders.... So I'm not sure what it could be .... New pads came with no hard ware so I used everything from the old pads only thing I didn't re install was the old pads had brake shims behind them and I did not use them....any ideas ... It makes a clunking when turning into places at slow speed and it I applied the brakes at slow speeds.....any help would be appreciated

oe pads have double shims. The black shim which is adhered to the back of the pad, and then a silver shim over the whole thing. I just did pads & rotors and noticed I could take the silver shim and slide it forwards and back. this may be what causes this. Needless to say i elected to just use the shim adhered to the back of the new aftermarket pad and discard the silver oem shims and now I get no clunk. Its funny too because if you read through the pad replacement procedure in the service manual, it shows to put anti-rattle grease between the double shim. (stupid). Not sure why there are double shims, but my theory is that the silver one is for appearances only.

Yeah I notice the same I went with ceramic thermoquiets and they came with no shims just the two warning clips for brake wear.... I'm thinking of just buying new pads I seen the high end ones come with everything....

Yeah the Centric PosiQuiet Ceramics are really good from all the reviews I have read. They have the backing plat/shim with them.
