08 MS3 TSB relating to fuel and pump question

Went to the dealer to deal with an oil leak form the oil pan and asked about the TSB. They were aware of it and said that since my car did not display any symptoms (despite the fact that my vin and build date Fall into the TSB) recommednded that I DO NOT RE-FLASH the ECU. They believe if it aint broke dont fix it.

Just wanted your thoughts. My car runs great no issues with the fuel or the fuel pump. Should I go to another dealer and insist on having them do re flash or not??

Mine was within the affected VIN range... I never did it since I never had any issues. I have upgraded my pump though for more fuel flow... Its been perfect since.

Don't do it unless you have issues...some members have gotten negative results from it.

you upgraded your fuel pump??

when you upgraded your fuel pump, you bought one after market??
if so which one?? brand etc
was it an easy install??

thanks

Yeah, with my mods, I was experiencing fuel pressure drops and during cold weather, my AFRs would start getting lean.

I sent my pump out to get modified with Mrlilguy; which is the same as PG. Its the easiest thing to install...next to a BPV. And definitely worth it!!

Mrlilguy, basically just replaces all the internals of the pump which in turns increases the fuel flow/pressure.
