07 radio replace with 09 radio?

I am looking to get a later model stock hu for my 07 mazda 3 i touring.

I just need to know what model/ yr radios will fit into my car. I have the aux in the center counsel. I am currently looking into a 09 radio , 6 disc, mp3 , BAS266ARX

Would the above radio fit into my car. I have no bose, single disc.

Any help picking the correct hu would be appreciated. I am really looking to get a stock hu that plays mp3.

Also if anyone knows or has one on sale on the forum, please post it up as well. thank you everyone.

one other question, what is the trip/ and without trip display? Was this an unlockable feature that can be done with any of the radios.

All '04-'09 HU's will FIT in your car..... I think what you mean is which ones will WORK. lol

There have been a few wiring and connector changes through the years. To be safe stick with a '06-'08 (not '08.5+)

Unlikely anyone has a '06-'08 6CD/Mp3 for sale.... I'll explain.

The "trip" is the Driver Information System (DIS). This displays vehicle information such as avg. mileage, miles to empty, etc. This is standard on all '06+GT trim. On '06-'07 HU's it could be unlocked by holding the FM/CD buttons on the HU down and turning the car to "ON"... wait a few seconds and it should display "DIS ON". On '08 models it can only be unlocked on the 6CD HU's. On '08.5+ models you have to buy the specific HU with that feature...... read: only the GT trims come with HU's that will do it and they already do it. Since you have a '07 you should be able unlock the DIS until you get your new HU.

The reason you're unlikely to find one for sale on the forums is this. In '04-'05 there was a dealer accessory single CD/Mp3 HU. In '06-'08 this was replaced with a 6CD/Mp3 changer but was still a dealer accessory and didn't come standard on any models. In '08.5 all HU's became Mp3 capable across the board. So basically anyone who has one specifically bought it so they're probably not going to want to sell it.

I'm not sure of the part number you need, but you should be able to ask for a '07 HU 6CD/Mp3. There may be a few differences (outside of Bose and NAV) because there were a few different stereo face trims that year (namely black and silver). New they run around $450. I'd drop Jason at www.onlinemazdaparts.com an e-mail at mazdapart@gmail.com and see if he can get you the correct p/n.

I actually have an 07 Mazdaspeed OEM 6 disc changer HU for sale....If you want it. Everything works perfectly. The only thing is, I took the LCD screen off to work with my aftermarket CD player. So, obviously, that wouldn't be included. But if you have your stock LCD, everything would work fine (would work without LCD, just not display disc info while you were playing it). I want $150 plus shipping...let me know

^^ it's possible the stock options for stereos in '07 were different in Canada. In the US no Mz3's came stock with the 6CD/Mp3. Some dealers would add them into their cars just to drive the price up more, but they weren't "standard".

skallen's offer seems like a pretty good deal. Since they're both '07 models you can just use the LCD from your stereo. Also if the color of the face is different from the rest of your car you could probably take the face off of yours and put it on the face of his. All of the Mz3 stereos have the LOAD button for the changer even if they don't have the changer installed.

skallen, just to clarify does your HU have the "MP3" logo next to the LOAD button? Not that I don't believe you but I've seen other people post that their HU plays MP3's only to find that they actually just burned regular audio files onto a CD and didn't know any better. lol

Thanks everyone for the help. I picked up an 08 hu that plays mp3s, single disc. My gf just really wanted to be able to play her mp3 disc with the stock looking hu. Everything was plug and play and works.

I would have snagged up your radio cuase i would have liked to have all the features. Shes fine though this one and wouldn't use any of the other features.

It doesn't have the logo, but it does play MP3's... I burned a disc with 132 songs on it and it worked fine
