07 MSP6 - Spark Plugs (DIY)

I have around 45k on my speed6 and was thinking of changing out the spark plugs. How hard is it do on the Speed6? Is there anything i should know before doing it myself?

Thanks

No different than any other car to remove the spark plugs other than you have to remove the intercooler. Pretty easy. I used anti-seize on the spark plug threads to prevent from screwing up the threads later on.

Make sure to set the gap to .028/.030" The plugs I bought were pregapped at over .040" and caused the engine to ping.

Supposedly good til 60k. In my MazdaSpeed Miata the 60k mile plugs were toast at 19k. Long life plugs are such a waste. They don't last nearly as long as stated and they don't perform as well as regular plugs. I haven't been able to find a non platinum/iridium plug for our cars yet.

are you sure .28/.30?? i gapped mine at that, and i was getting some hesitation, called autozone and they said gap for the car should .44
