My CX-9 engine RPMs were jumping up and down under constant gas pedal pressure. When the car
is placed in park, the engine RPMs rise to 2k sometimes 3k! If I tap the pedal, sometimes the RPMs drop to
normal idle range.
I just had the throttle body replaced on my CX-9 based on research here and other forums. This has not solved the problem.
My next step is to replace the gas pedal. I have also read that the ECU must be programmed to the new throttle body although
the dealer where I purchased the part said this is not necessary.
I'm a long ways from any dealer so I would like to know if theprogramming is really necessary and a approximate cost to do so.
Any other thoughts on this issue would be appreciated. Thanks.
