02 p5 transmission wtb

Having synchro issues in my manual trans. I've been told it would be cheaper to buy a new tranny than to fix mine. Any thoughts? Also wondering if the 03 p5 tranny and engine will fit in the 02 so I'll have more options. Any feedback is much appreciated as I'm new to the Mazda world

and to answer your question, 02-03 motors are all the same. There are actually more, from what I know you can use the motor from 97- 03 protege also as long as it is the 2.0. FS-DE is the motor. I believe also that Mazda 626 comes with the 2.0 but I forget what years. transmissions can be interchanged also, like an 02 manual can be swapped with an 03 manual or auto or slapstick but you'll need the ecu and wiring harness for the auto and slapstick.

yea i finally found a thread on here explaining which transmissions will fit. im looking for a manual though but thanks anyways man
