Well, Kooldino and Perfworks. . .let me know how the CEL battle goes. I'm very eager to resolve this. Meanwhile I guess I need to get that ECU swapped.
igdrasil said:Well...Ive already seen 9psi blown p5 engines, but I want to know whyyyyy....thats what will keep me from boosting more than 7psi. I would prefer to work the intake manifold and the exhaust.
And of course i will end up getting his stage4 and boost up to 10psi
Anyway I am going to follow spoolins recomendations, I dont trust Gas Stations here, and even more because of the war. You never know when they put 89octane fuel on the 93octane TANK.

That or a nice wideband. . .putting em on the wish list.
igdrasil, we still up for a meeting when I head to San Juan next week?
why the CEL?igdrasil said:Quick note, just to let you guys know,
I just installed the Greddy A/F Gauge with its own Sensor, and its working perfect.
99% of the time im @ WOT, as soon as it passes 5000rpm the needle jumps to 11 sometimes 9 and steady between 13.5-12.5.
Problem is i got a CEL!
Im going to video record it soon, but will take pics sooner.
PD
Not turboed yet
please forgive the ignorance but why cant you use the stock o2 sensor to get the voltage needed to check A/F ratio.igdrasil said:As the manual says:
Replacing the factory O2 sensor will require using the GREEN wire - output to the ECU
1. It could be that the signal that the greddy is sending to the ECU is not compatible, if this is the casem I will need to put the stock one and install the greddy one in a new location.

does this particular unit need to have its own sensor.and if so then iguess you will have to tap into the piping before you start this turbo install ?
perfworks said:oh so all your using is the one green wire from the stock harness?
perfworks said:thats why you are getting the cel. the ecu has inputs that tell if there is an open in ANY emmisions related circiut. i was reading about it yesterday .
all the wires need to be spliced into the aftermarket harmess and you wont have any problems running just one![]()
perfworks said:what i mean by splicing is not to phisically cut the harness and use the wires from the ecu .
use those vampire clips they use to just run a parellel circiut . damn i wish i had a pic
like the ones the stereo guys use.
leave the harness for the unit intact .
