0 gauge Capacitor

Hey yall wondering if anyone knows where i can find a capacitor that has a 0ga input and also a 0ga output. Have a kicker KX1200.1 amp and it has to have 0ga to the amp.

Nevermind yall i will break it into some distribution blocks just to run through the cap. then distribution it back into 0ga. thanks for the time though.

search around a bit, you're quite likely shooting yourself in the foot with the cap, also, necking power wire down and then going back up will only serve to make things worse.

I totally understand that a cap is no substitue for a HO alternator and a deep cycle battery, however that being said, even with a red top optima, lights still dim. just looking for another "patch for the problem" until i can get or find a HO Alternator. However i could run another battry......anyone have any wiring techniques for this? Did some searching but couldn't find a HO Anlternator thanks for the info yall.

Ok wait one more question, Is there any downside in splitting the 0GA with a distribution block? I was going to split into two 2GA feeds into the cap, Then two 2GA back into a dist. block, finally back to 0GA into the amp(very short distance from dist block to amp).

HO alt isn't gonna happen unless you want to perhaps pull your AC and stick a secondary alt in it's place to run a secondary electrical system off of.

Headlight dimming will happen rolling up your windows, it's going to happen with your stereo. Period. I don't feel like playing broken record, just about once a week the topic comes up, and It's obvious that others get tired of attempting to bring the facts out as well. Also, seeingas I'm by no means the expert onthe matter that many others here are, I often don't feel qualified enough to even start it, but seriously, search caps in this forum a bit and see what shows up. Caps are increasingly surfacing to be not even asmuch as the "crutch" ppl seem to believe they are.

Seriously, caps may take some strain off your alternator's regulator (which is debatable, has been dabatably, and will never reach a conclusion) but they will not eliminate dimming. A new battery helps, using a class-D amplifier helps, and most importantly, turning down the volume helps.

So I have sone some research over the weekend and decided i am going to get a 75/35 optima red top battery. This will help out a little more, not much, but more than a cap, and a cleaner install. If needs be in the end i will just do a dual battery setup. thanks for all your input guys!

Cool man, glad to hear. becareful with dual batts as well, that's another one that can often do more harm than good, including destroying both of your batts if you're not careful. Also, make sure your battery grounding's upgraded as well. doesn't matter if your amps grounded with 0gague if your battery's only grounded to your frame with the stock 10 or 12 or whatever, that's your weakest link.

Any grounding kit that you recommend?

Grounding kits are a waste of money. If you add a 4ga or 0ga power wire to your battery, just make sure you add a 4ga or 0ga ground wire from the battery to the chassis to compensate. You don't need an entire kit.

chassis to engine block is a good idea. it makes transferring from the alt to the battery and the rest of the cars electronics more efficient.

Lol, I hear ya. I'll put a little work into making my situation better, but I'm now realizing I'll probably never have this one licked. It's not worth the trouble. I didn't know a class-D amp will help. Are they more efficient? (forgive my ignorance, but I'm not familiar with them)
