0-100kph (62mph) in 4.6 secs? Faster than Magnum SRT8?

Sorry...I don't believe that pdf for a second. The braking distances are all horribly off. Either someone mixed up the data, or the testing wasn't done properly. And if the braking distances are questionable, that makes me wonder about the acceleration data.

Aussie reviewers are getting closer to the low 6 seconds in the 0-100 km/h and 0-60 times. (Same gearing, +70F ambient, -20 bhp). Those times seem alot more realistic given mazda's estimates. (also low 14's in the 1/4)

They need a second pdf to explain their testing procedures, because the data in this little blurb doesn't match up with the rest of the reviewing community.

I thought that the revised gearing was only for the North American models?

The aussies confirmed that the revised gearing is for them as well. The only difference is their version makes 20 less bhp. (254 instead of 274). Thats also being debated as well. The car's seem identical, so it could just be a relabeling of power for that particular market segment. (ie same car, just different numbers for marketing reasons)

The big difference though...is the fact the canadian reviewers are looking at the cars in lower ambient temps, vs the 80F or so the aussies are testing them in.

The test results are an average of all 63 involved journalists. Yes, some of them aren't very good drivers. But it is the same guys driving each car. Some of the cars are more user friendly and some require more skill to get the maximum results. The tests were done with all traction and DSC systems turned on. With two "race car" drivers driving the cars the Z06 should stop faster, but maybe with all systems turned on and the average Joe driving the MS6 stops faster. 35.2 metres is about 115' that is damn good braking from 60 mph.

I stated in another thread that there testing is a little off magazine numbers, which is why I think some mags will test the MS6 even faster than 5.3sec to 60. I talked to my source again, these cars were all launched at idle (let the clutch out and then floor it), there was no clutch dump and the DSC systems were on. This is why the numbers for the Z06 were so slow.

The MS6 is FAST. My only concern at this point is heatsoak. The weather during these tests were very favorable for a turbo AWD car, it will be interesting to see how much it looses when temps hit 80-90 degrees.

Still...the numbers are "universally" off the magazine numbers. It just seems fishy that all. I'm not discounting the data completely, I'm just moving it away from "verified truth" and more towards "another perspective" catagory.

Try stompin' on it with the DSC activated when the pavement is wet and you might change your mind. I have never been in a car that accelerates as quickly when the pavement is wet before. I bet that it acclerates quicker on wet pavement with snow tires than many cars will on dry pavement with standard tires! Dry pavement with the summer tires is even better of course.

Now, none of my observations are scientific, but you cannot deny that this car hustles, whatever the "peer-reviewed" 0-100kmh times end up being.

I own another turbo car, a Porsche 944 Turbo S, that run a K27 turbo, 18 lbs of boost and weights 2800 lbs.

The engine is 2.5 liters with 8:1 compression and makes 320 bhp (dyno verified).

The Speed6 pulls as hard on the highway as the Porsche.

Have not done top speed run yet, all tracks are closed, but the MS6 should hold its own upto at least 130 or so. Maybe higher, have to wait for spring to find out.

Just a note the 944 pulls its top gear, that's good for 180 mph. :) :)
