this may sound weird but 9 months ago i got a mp3 ecu and i THINKi felt a bit (small) of hp and smoother power band. that was from 87 to 91 oct. 2 days ago i used 92 for the first time and i FELT a bump of power. like double for just 1 octane point, can this be true?

i bought this o' reilly best select pads from checkers. the forums say to take off the old shims off the old pad and put it on the new. my son and i couldn't put back the caliper on cause the pad were too thick w/ the shims on. this new pad looks like it has shims built in, not like the old...

my sons 240 is running bad so he did the tune up, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, fuel filter. checked the timing, but couldn't disconnect the throttle sensor harness connector. is it that important? without the disconnect the timing looks good. the motor and shifter is shaking badly. no smoking...
