FYI, I don't see any updates since May anyway. 10.817 is still the latest Map OS. 910 from May is still latest maps. 10.818 could have the fix.

Great point! I always wondered why they don't account for a passenger making nav input. The airbag sensor detects a passenger by a weight limit. Seat belt already uses that sensor to warn, why not have nav use that to remove Safety Lock, too?

A temp fix for the "Safety" Lock would be to make it lock the last screen/command entry until the vehicle has slowed (allowing you to resume where you left off), rather that resetting the state back to map.

...and that just ADDS to driving distraction! The Safety Lock makes it less safe.

FYI, with pre 10.817, there was a hidden feature: press the Nav button in the Mazda to have the navigation repeat the last instruction. I believe this "feature" is removed by 10.817 since pressing Nav now takes you to the nav main menu.

905 maps were released Tuesday for NA (other regions got it weeks before). LMG is valid from 90 days of first use of device.

Free update. It just updates the interface, not the maps.

TomTom site mentions that 905 maps for NA will be released the last week of March. Delay was reported to be due to last-minute inclusion of completed major construction.
