    Mileage Check!

Purchased: August of 2002. 40 miles on the odo. Today: 165,001 on the odo-meter. Problems: None. Everything has been routine maintenance for me. Timing belt, oil and filter every 4-5K, drive belts, brake pads, coolant flush, brake flush, tranny drain, etc. And I cannot forget a hand...

Sweet nectar of life! What a great way to start the season. Hats off to the Tri-Point gang, way to go! Later.

    What's your mileage?

The race to 200,000 is on. I should hit 161,000 by weeks end, although I am not driving as much with my job as I have in the past so I will have to get creative if I'm to pass Mr. TurboTodd. Maybe I can find a dyno to park on during lunch, set the cruise on say 100mph, that should help don't...

    100K MP5 Club

152,000 miles and going strong. Original clutch, just did the timing belt, for the first time, a couple of thousand miles ago, all the seals, drive belts, water pump, etc. I'm on the second battery due to an oversight by my wife, but other than that everything else is stock, well, except for...

    What's your mileage?

Just cruised past 152,000 miles, and going strong. When will the stock clutch fail? I can't believe it's lasted this long, I am ready to upgrade. This car is as good or better than any of the Honda's or Toyota's that I have owned. I still love the way this thing handles. So much fun! Later.

    Just curious!!!

Would it be feasible (money no object, of course) to introduce MP5 (FS) to 13b, w/ the AWD from the SP20? Lower center of gravity, better weight distibution, w/ maybe 60 percent power to the rear and 40 percent to the front? Just curious. I have often thought that it would make an interesting...

    What's your mileage?

2002 MP5, purchased in August of 2002. Just rolled past the 142,000 mile mark a few days ago and should hit 150,000 by the end of next month. I have rotated between stock 16" wheels on 205/45-16 rubber to a set of 18" on 215/35-18 for most of the cars life. It is lowered 2", and has an intake...

    Camber kits?

CWiLL check with the Tire Rack. They sell some by Eibach ($26/pair +/-1 degree) or sold as an Eibach, I am not sure exactly who makes them. When I owned Honda's I used a company called Ingalls Engineering, and they made some great camber/suspension alignment kits. Hope this helps. Later.

    215/35/18 for around $100/ea?

Tire Rack sells the General Exclaim UHP (I believe it is marketed as an ultra-high performance all-season tire though) for $86. I have them in a 205/45-16 on my stock wheels and they are very quiet, and lighter in weight than comparable tires. Pretty good wear as well. I also have the Kumho...

Does 18" rims = rough ride?

I miss my 1983 GTI big-time, you are right weev, it was a blast to drive!

Does 18" rims = rough ride?

Greenridge, it all depends on what you consider to be rough. If you like the way your 5 rides and handles with the stock set up, and you are not willing to sacrifice any ride harshness for improved looks, steering response, cornering grip, high-speed stability, etc., then leave it alone. I can...

    19s on a P5 ... Size Help Needed

No problems with the Sprints at all, the back sits slightly higher than the front, but with the gear I carry for work it is pretty much even all around (maybe even slightly lower in the rear). I put Tokico HP's on at about 93,000 miles, and have enjoyed the set-up so far (150-200 miles/day)...

    Tire Mileage

I got 44K on the stock Dunlops, and I probably could have made 50K, but I didn't want to drive like my grandma to do it. Above 40K these tires were scary in the rain.

    215/35/18 +45 offset

I have 215/35-18's on an 18x7 inch wheel (45mm offset), with a 2" drop all around, and I have yet to rub anywhere. Everyone that I have talked to that has had a 7.5" wide rim, and a lowered suspension has rolled the fenders. That doesn't mean that you can't do it, that has just been my...

    FS: Mazda Factory Shocks

Hey, are the struts still available? Would you take $100, struts only, and I'll come pick them up? Let me know, thanks!

What kind of mpg are you guys getting?

'02 P5 with just under 84,000 miles, 5sp, 2" drop, lightweight 18" wheels, air intake, and mazdaspeed exhaust. I drive a mix of city and highway miles with the air conditioning on every day, I fill up every couple of days, and I am averaging just under 31 mpg. I usually drive b/t 70-75mph on...

    Kuhmo Ecsta ASX!

Cool! I'm rolling with the 712's currently (truly amazing in the rain), and when they wear out I was planning on trying the ASX's. Keep us updated! Later!
