    Wheels...HUB or LUG centric???

Your kidding, right? Has it come to the point that people post to a internet forum for information rather than just walk outside and look? Sorry, I just had to get that out. I just rotated tires and aligned the front end last night so I know they're lug-centric. 5 X 114.5 if I rember...

I finally recieved my 2001 Mazda Protege Wiring Diagram Book!

Could you give us an idea of the tech content? I mean beyond the typical wiring diagrams for the harnesses, what else is there? If it's got some decent info on how the ECU and ignition system work, it would be worth it for me. Ingition map info would be so sweet. I don't need the typical...

    OBX-R is King!!! Read On

Ain't Florida great! I haven't had a car inspected for like 20 years, and it's wonderful to ignore CARB and all their bull s***. The major drawback is all the slow poke blue hairs clogging the left lane in their Caddys. It's getting bad here in Cocoa Beach. Anybody contact OBX-R and get an...

    which one?

Springs for sure. But if she's like most wives, she doesn't know how much they cost, or even what they look like, so order both. Maybe that's why I'm divorced.

    Header!?/ meanest typo ever?

I keep buggin them too, I hope theyre not getting pissed. I noticed today that NOPI updated their listing for the pipes since the last time Id looked at the site. The $173 pipes are now listed as chromed steel, where I thought they were listed as SS before. They also put up pics of the chrome...

Rebuilding my tranny with G25M-R gears

NC, I haven't been following your tranny woes, cause I know just how bad that sucks and didn't want to hear about it. But now I'm wondering just what it is that lets go. I assume from this post the the syncros are breaking off, or the gears are failing on the shafts. Either way, if the shafts...

    p5 ecu?

Check the "how hard would this be post"

    how hard would this be....

It's posssible, but my understanding is that the connectors and harnesses are different, making hook a little difficult. Wire colors may not match either, so you may need the JDM schematic and be able to read it as well. I'm sure the J-spec ECU isn't OBDII, but all that really means is you...

can a SE-R SpecV take a civic Si

Speaking of Civics, anybody see the Type S Civic write up in the latest SCC? Man, if that car ever makes it to the states I'll be the first in line. Honda says it never will though. They seem to know they'd never be able to sell another RSX if they did.

    which would you recommend

I wouldn't mess with changing pistons unless you can get forged flat tops, and reprogram the ECU. I mean, that's a lot of work for not that much improvement, and you won't see FZ output levels without FZ ECU programming. If I were you, I'd just do the cams for now. That's just my 2 cents...

    Header!?/ meanest typo ever?

I got a reply back from NOPI on the email I sent them yesterday. The header is not available, and they couldn't say when it would be. No specs available yet either, it figures. By my count there are now 3 sources that claim to be producing a pipe for the gen 3 Pro, and none of them seem to...

    Header!?/ meanest typo ever?

I couldn't get through on the phone, so I off-d an email - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Word is out you guys are offering an exhaust header for the 2001 Protege. I here this header is built by HP Racing, but HP's web site doesn't list the Protege...

    Header!?/ meanest typo ever?

For under $200! Even if it's a POS, it's worth a try. If nothing else it will get me by until a better one comes out. I'm giving them a call.

    Header!?/ meanest typo ever?

I know how you feel, it pisses me off too. I pick up SCC and what do I see - civic this, and civic that - Type R here, Type R there. I find the word Protege in there one time, and find they only carry light bulbs or some s*** like that. It ain't no typo. The bastards are rubbing it in. If...

    High Compression

I'd seen that before, and it's good info if it's accurate. As near as I call tell there is serious head work, with ports opened up and decking to 12.5 or 13:1 given the 30cc chamber volume. Port ends are way big, yet volume is low in comparison. I don't know the stock valve size, but they...

    High Compression

OK CH, you say the pick up is on the pulley, and on the valve cover, I agree. You're correct yet a little confused. Theres a piece of the sensor in both places. There are two parts to any rotational position sensor, be it a cam, crank shaft, automotive or otherwise. There is a pick up and...

    mp5 header

I never said that you had to remove the 2nd sensor to make your mod work, and youre right, it wont work if you do. I was just pointing out that there were other ways to do it. Especially if you no longer have a boss in the exhaust for it. Even when there is the 2nd boss, it is better used for...

    I Stand Alone....

Only if you tell it to. But then agian, isn't the point of a stand alone to allow you to tune for maximum power output? And aren't maximum possible output and emissions compliance mutually exclisive?

    High Compression

CH, the part cast into the pulley cant be the pickup, it has to be the target. The pickup would need to be wired into the system and that dont work on a rotating part like the pulley. Im sure the Mazda engineers have found a way to make it as solid and unadjustable as possible. Even though I...

    High Compression

You can retard the ignition by either removing and remounting the timing sensor on the cam pulley, reprogramming the ECU, or buying a stand-alone. But I havent heard of anybody doing any of these things on a Pro yet. However, Ive repositioned many a timing sensor to add advance, and its...
