    Jackson Racing Supercharger?

Wow, this is has gotten really out of hand. Drivers have different desires. We could go on about how the turbo setups generally add about 40lbs to the upper front portion of a FWD 4 cyl (not really beneficial to handling, if you ask me)...or we could go on about how roots superchargers suck...

    Jackson Racing Supercharger?

Actually, Jackson Racing said they'll consider making a kit once the car is slated for 4th year production...some of the staff think it's a good idea. Too bad they'll be too late!

    I lost to an MP3!?!??

Isn't there a static compression ratio difference and different fuel/spark mapping as well? I don't know much about the MSP but I doubt it's just a turbo kit on a stock Protege.

    Spoolin Microtech Update

Hmm...Eagle H-Beam rods group buy, anyone? LOL!

    Earthing Kits

I'd like to see some real numbers. I wouldn't believe this actually makes a significant difference in power. Are they selling the idea that you get a better spark? Even in cars that benefit greatly from aftermarket spark control units, they don't make much power...just help cold starts, fuel...

    An e-mail from Callaway.

The Callaway system makes less power because it's designed to last throughout the warranty without severely affecting engine and drivetrain life. It's like the chips in the VW 1.8t's. Put in a chip, get 50hp and 75ft/lb. But don't expect your car to last that 10/100 that VW designed it to...

    SPOOL Stage3 dyno stats!!!

For everybody worried about NJ inspection...it's really a pathetic joke. I drove a 12 second El Camino in and came out with a nice new sticker (Of course, it's fuel injected!) V8 Volvos pass smog test here all the time(visual in NJ only consists of checking for a cat), and my "soon to be"...

    Spoolin Microtech Update

Good Deal, Terry! I'll be motivated to get the supercharger mounted up now that I know the Microtech will be ready to go! I'm also curious about the interface, as Scott mentioned. Similar to my DFI or not? I'm stoked! Have fun. Mike

    Area 51 Protege Supercharger?

6 grand for a laggy centrifugal kit that you could put together at home with a little hard work for under $3k? I'm working on a roots supercharger based (eaton M45) kit with an integrated water intercooler in the intake manifold. It won't look as "cool" as the area 51 kit because it won't have...

    An e-mail from Callaway.

That's the problem. They could make "SOME" money by selling to individuals. When they sell to big companies they make "A FRIGGIN TON" of money. I think that would qualify them as being "smart." There are so many other turbo kits out there, why would you worry about a Callaway kit anyway?

    2003.5 Yellow MSP Pics

Have you ever seen fogs on a 1.8T VW? If you did, they were integrated with the headlights. Side mount intercoolers (which is probably what the MSP has, although I really have no idea, I'm assuming) need to get their airflow through the airdams that would normally house fog/driving lights...

    Earthing Kits

In the English speaking world, earthing is simply what you described. "Grounding" is what we would call it. Every car could stand to have better grounds. In the rest of the world, the negative terminal on the battery is called "earth". Ever see how many ground wires there are on a fiberglass...

    Potential of MSP

Just got to read this one and I'm still laughing. Let's not take it to heart, ladies and gentleman. There are so many apples to compare...it's so tough. If you're on this board, obviously you like the MP3, P5, MSP look and maybe their performance. I work at an auto auction. I drive 996's...

    SPOOL Stage3 dyno stats!!!

I think the engine management will have a much better effect than cams for the price/performance that you'd get. Just an opinion as I'm no expert. Maybe someone can shed some more light on this.

Eaton s/c again...need boost gurus' help

Sounds good. We'll definitely have to meet up. There was a guy building kits for Del Sol's (my last car...Del Slow, as I liked to call it.) He used the toyota supercharger with the magnetic clutch. It bolted on in place of the A/C. He called it the Air-Kundishoner. Anyway, apparently the...

Eaton s/c again...need boost gurus' help

Well, here's a nice deal. I got hooked up with New Dimensions, a VW performance site while browsing parts for the Jetta. Anyway, they had a prototype CNC machined billet aluminum intake that they were using with the same style M45 Eaton blower that I have. Long story short, I now have the...

Eaton s/c again...need boost gurus' help

Not ready to remove the A/C yet...I've already got a "racecar" so this is primarily for street fun and, as you know, it gets pretty humid in NJ during the summer months! Thanks for the input. I've got my buddy who's an HVAC designer working on the flow volumes and runner length...

    Tripoint Turbo

but didn't the info say they were running supplemental injectors to get extra fuel into the system...just need a supplemental pump. Is that why their torque measurements are so much higher than everyone else?

Eaton s/c again...need boost gurus' help

Expensive is right...but probably worth it as evaporative cooling seems to be pretty efficient. The liquid cooler isn't a problem...the pump probably isn't a problem...it's the damn heat exchanger itself that is big $$$.

Eaton s/c again...need boost gurus' help

I spoke to TKT about a manifold (although the welds look fairly crappy...) He's looking for $1800 just for a manifold!!! That seems a little (a lot, actually) steep to me. Heck, I could have Spoolin's entry level kit on the car for not much more than that! I'm going to make one in mild steel...
