I wish Area 51 would produce this kit...

What do you guys think?

That is one gorgeous car..Hey..I want one of those chromed out steel braided lines comin from the Radiator..Anyone know where I could get one?

I think that if they produced that kit it would be over priced and we'd still run into the fuel controlling issue. There are a total of 5 (know) turbo kits available for the Protege and they're all somewhat having the same problem. (hacking the ECU) I more of a turbo person myself. But each to his own. I heard somewhere that they charged a bit over $7000 for that supercharger kit. Which is the second one in existance. The other belongs to Wings West in their Protege.

6 grand for a laggy centrifugal kit that you could put together at home with a little hard work for under $3k?
I'm working on a roots supercharger based (eaton M45) kit with an integrated water intercooler in the intake manifold. It won't look as "cool" as the area 51 kit because it won't have all the intercooler piping but it'll have some nice braided steel water hoses for the intercooler and probably a polished manifold.
It will also probably have the same fueling problems as the turbo kits...until Spoolin' gets the Microtechs ready! Or we could always add a few supplemental injectors.

5 kits? there is the FM/BEGI, Mazdafromance, Spoolin, and tripoint kit. what is the fifth kit?

The company that made Stou's setup, Extreme Machine is the 5th. Granted they are a Canadian company, but I'm sure they we could get one if we called Stou and got the specifics.

I wouldn't mind the header........looks nice!

Saided18, my car is hoding up very well, I run it at 8 psi and did some AutoX competition and don't have any problem with my car. It is just runing a bit too rich but since we have advance timing, but it's saffer that way.

I always run it on high octane gaz (92 or 94), do oil change every 4000km with synthetic oil. I also have A/F, Boost and EGT gauges to keep an eye on what happening under the hood.

The complete custom kit with 2 1/2 complete mandrel bent exhaust with the installation cost me around $6000 Canadian. I said around because I add some extra gauges and steel braided oil line after the kit was installed.

thats the s*** i want get for my car! i keep checking area 51 web site for info about the set up but the site is under constrution. got to find how power it makes. i d rather get a blower b cuz its more realiable and not that much up grades to the internals of the motor.

Not really, the centrifugal blower isn't any more reliable than a turbo set up. It is basically a turbo run off of belts rather than exhaust gases.

Most people think that the centrifugal blower combines the bad parts of both the turbo (lag) and the blower (Lack of intercooler, limited boost).

You don't have to upgrade the internal piece to the motor for a turbo neither.

As far as getting the kit, you'll have to contact Area 51 directly. Last time I tried to get any info out of them was for my artilce, and all I could get was that they said they weren't going to make a prodeuction run of their kit, its basically a build it if the customer wants it kind of deal for now.
