It looks great! Maybe someone (or maybe you) could p-shop the sides of your last pic to get an idea of what the sides would look like painted...I like that look too...

wah? our hoods are heavier than 15 lbs isnt it? and if your talking about a wrx hood... they are only like 10 lbs..., and compared to them ours is like 50..

I like how the hood looks with the sides painted. How do you guys think it will look if the sides were painted but the trunk was CF? cuz im debating whether to paint the sides.

i didn't have a wrx i had a gc8. and yes our hoods are heavier than 15lbs but the carbon fiber you replace it with isn't weightless.

Could someone photoshop the whole thing blue for me?

hey Bill was the install of the hood easy...i ask cause some guys were having problems dude to bad craftsman ship of it...actually like 4 protege owners were not happy with theyre hoods.
any discrepencies?

In my opinion it looks much nicer painted. I would either paint the sides like your photoshop or the whole thing minus the grill. I'm a big proponent of form following function and the understated sleeper effect. I hate mods stickers and fake type R badges and plain CF hoods. As far as those go though, yours aint bad. My vote is to paint but if you decide not to, it still looks nice.

Matt
they were not happy with theyre vis hoods....i found this info from the forums here. judt did a search and i got them..
just wanted to see what bill experienced?

yeah, but if you paint the hood don't you have to paint the whole car? I have a yellow msp and would like the weight reduction as well, but have been holding back because the car is will pretty new (less then a year) and I do not want to repaint the WHOLE car. But also do not really want the cf hood to stand out SO much with the black on yellow. I agree with goonsquad on the sleeper effect. For the dark blue though I really like the partial paint job.

ya there has been quite a few people on this board who have had problems with there VIS hood. I havent had any problems w/ fitment or anything. Hopefully I never will. Never had I heard problems with VIS till the people on this board have brought it up. I always here about Fiberimages, probably cuz they are a local company

My personal opinion: Paint the sides.

I thought I read somewhere that the VIS hoods did not have real vents? Is this true or is it another hood.

That hood looks really good though!!

the vents are real when you take the blocking plate off, the NACA ducts are also real they just don't lead to anything. the hood now has some new scrathces on it from track debris but that is life, i think i will take it off this winter and paint the whole thing.
