If you had some sort of automatic climate control system... that is where all the specs would show up... if you look at the "shadows" you see indicators for things like fan speed, temperature, and such. But, this being an "economy" model with normal (read, beautifully simplistic) knobs to control heat/AC, ya just don't have anything to plug into it.
The results of sharing a radio with the 6 (which does have an available Climate Control system).
Perhaps mazda3's will get automatic climate control in the future. They already have navigation...
