Painting front Mazda emblem on P5's

I want to paint my headlights on my black P5, but I don't think it will look as good with the chrome logo on the front grill. Does anyone know if that is paintable? Is it done just like the headlights? Should a special type of paint be used since it will be exposed to the elements? And if someone post a pic if they have one that would be awesome.

ive painted the front logo before .. you should sand off the chrome first, then primer it, then spray it black ..

you dont have to sand of the chrome its plastic just scratch it and use a adhesion promoter and then paint color. might i suggest color match your headlights from paintscratch.com do the headlights along with the emblem

Now, when I order the 12.5oz can, do I need to buy the primer they sell? What about the clear coat is it that unnecessary?

i painted mine using the paint scratch paint.

i got mine painted when i had it in the shop after an accident..
they simply poped the emblem off.. sanded it, and im assuming they used the same paint they used to paint the car so it matches perfectly.
3m tape the back of the emblem and pop it right back on. no problems with it.

i recommend just painting it first before sanding it so that if you dont like it you can just scrape the paint off and be with the chrome again. thats what i did and i ended up not liking it painted so i was glad that i didnt sand it.

black might look better, but try it in yellow and if it's ghey then paint it black
