They generally have good reviews. Hopefully yours will be properly sorted out after installation.hopefully I will have a better experience. The redline tuning ones I have on my jeep rubicon work exceptionally well so I hope the cx5 set up works better than yours. have you contacted redline? they have been super responsive to me. you very may well may have a bad strut.
i went with the same...no issues during install...seem to be ok thusfar but i'm only 25k miles in...i'm also careful when opening and shutting the hood...I got a cheapy pair off Amazon and they were locked up initially. I had to beat on them with a mallet and wooden blocks to get them to release before I installed them. After that though, they were fine and smooth and have remained so for the six years since.
i don't see how you could stop a leak on these. how long have you had them? so far I have been super happy with mine but still basically new altho i have opened and closed the hood about 100X's lol.Looking at mine today, I have a trickle of oil coming out of one of my hood struts. Eventually it will fail if I'm not able to stop the leak somehow.
