as some of you know i am looking to buy a msp on monday. i was just wondering how much you guys paid for yours. i have seen some listed for 22,000 and others at 17,500.

You shouldn't pay over $17K.

There was a $1,000 factory to dealer incentive on this car that has now been terminated- if you bought a couple days ago you'd really have gotten a deal. Now you probably can't get it.

Invoice is $19,447. There is a $2,500 rebate. That makes $16,847 invoice. Add a reasonable profit for the dealer- $200.

$17,047, don't spend a penny more.

Carsdirect.com has raised its price on the MSP substantially. When I got mine 2 months ago, they were offering them at 17.7k.

we also live in socal so i think they are a little more hard to deal with over here.

Edmunds states invoice is 18900 for 2003.5 and 18400 for 2003.
Your best bet is to travel to a different state because it seems as if some dealerships are more willing to get rid of them. My area has tons of them and they dont seem to be selling them that fast yet they are assholes on the price, one guy told me invoice was 21,200....I laughed in his face and threw my taco at him.

Nmaino: You'll get a better price for yours after the dealers have sold off all of theirs. Be patient for another 6 months and your used one will increase in value. Somebody's gonna WANT one and there won't be ANY new ones to be had.

If you do chose to buy from another state, make sure you don't get double-****** by your home state. I know that some states double-tax you for buying a car away from their precious tax dollars.

I bought mine one week ago today for $16,074 (plus $100 document fee) from Brown Mazda in Toledo, Ohio.

As of Thursday, they had at least three left (two silver and one yellow).
