Sub install

Finaly got around to doing my install. I originally thought I'd swap dash speakers and deaden doors to start. But I was actually pleased with the bose system. Highs aren't to bright. Mid bass is very good. So I jumped straight to the sub install. Audio Control Lc2i for my LOC, Kicker EQ, and Rockford Fosgate 1200.1 amp. Two JL 12w6v3's. And box tuned to 30hz. When tuning the amp I found there is factor rolloff of bass somewhere around 45-50hz. I think someone already posted that. Just confirming. Also found a rolloff above 80hz. So basically there is a bandpass filter applied to the front door speakers. So I left the crossover on the amp all the way open since the factory system has already applied the crossovers. After eq'ing a little I'm very happy with the results.

Photos aren't really in order. Sorry about that. I'm uploading on my phone. But you can kinda see where I started and ended up. Very happy with the results.

This double-dose sub is impressive!!! Just wondering if our CX-5 can hold up without rattling issue with this massive bass?! ;)

Nice, I take you don't have the Blowes speakers?

Thanks. I do, they really aren't that bad. I know some people on here seem to not like them. And I most likely will swap dash speakers with something different down the road. I have my eye on some 3.5inch full range speakers I wanna try. But that's all I plan on replacing. Gonna keep everything else stock. Mid bass really is pretty good for a stock system.

Preciate it. Just finished up today. And I haven't demoed to many songs yet. So I can't say for sure. But on the 2 songs I listened to before I called it quits, inside the vehicle sounded great. Outside, the license plate really needs some deadener behind it. I think that will take care of most of the rattle.

So after having the system hooked up for a while now, I have made some more tweeks. Bumped the treble up 2 notches on headunit, added sound deadener to front doors as well as rear hatch area and license plate. Also an extra piece of foam on top of deadener directly behind front door speakers. Minor EQ tweaks, as well as bringing crossover on amp all the way down to 50hz. This greatly helped with Sq and blending with front stage. For the best blend I have to turn the gain down a little. But I like bass so I usually don't. Lol. I've measured spl once on music and hit 127.5db. Results continue to get better. I'll follow up with more updates down the road
