I just wired up this clever little package this morning to the BOSE system and have to admit, sounds pretty good. Adds some much needed low end!

yeah, sorry- i should have taken a bunch more while running wires thru fire wall, removing glove box, kick panels, etc... easiest cable running ive ever experienced. thanks mazda. i like that the sub has a grill protecting it. pretty sweet box design too-

if anyone is wondering what speaker wires i tapped- from the bose unit, per this fancy diagram, i tapped the front left and front right speakers, just as it comes out of the bose amp under the right passenger dash panel. it came with an adapter for speaker wire to rca to send audio signal to processor, since bose neglected to provide rca outputs.....

Nice simple install with the powered sub. I planned on doing the same, but using an Infinity Basslink. Quite inexpensive and compact. May not be the cleanest and deepest in producing sub-bass, but should add a little oomph to the factory Bose. Just haven't gotten to it since the factory Bose sounds quite nice for a system without a real subwoofer.

i agree, the bose sounds pretty nice, definitely crisp, but it was missing what i had been use to in my old car. what i like about the jbl is that its not over powering, the mids and highs of the bose still stand out due to their location in the car. i also like that the jbl isnt massive. i filled the trunk of my last car and after a few years, it started to get annoying that i couldnt store/transport anything

I had a Basslink and it was a good invention when they first came out. I gave it to a friend and then moved up to a small 250w JL setup with a 10". After that it was Nite-n-Day. :D

OP, what are the specs for your Bass Pro, it looks like serious business?

Yes, the Basslink I is quite a mediocre powered sub. Inaccurate, poorly design and thin plastic enclosure, and some what muddy. The BL II was a good improvement, but won't care against a sub with a large enclosure of course. Can't go wrong since they're being sold used for loose change LOL.
