I hate people

I woke up to do my oil change, and check my leaky driveshaft boot.

went into the car to find my reading glasses, and discovered that my BassLink was missing.

I did forget to lock it My Fault

funny how the house next door was empty for 6 weeks and I saw a couple cars in the drive the night before and thugs movin in

so their first day in the house they have the cops knockin on the door with questions

That sucks. People generally suck.

My Garmin took a walk on me not too long ago. And I don't leave it out, or have an easily spotted mount for it. But since there were no signs of forced entry, I can only assume that I must have failed to press the lock button on the remote as I walked away from the car.

Funny thing is, they got into the glove box & took the cheap Garmin (~$140 to replace) and left the Dashhawk, which DOES stay mounted on the dash using the cp-E mount. (I park in a covered garage, so no heat worries)

Even as we speak, I am downloading a navigation app for my Droid. It has free Google Nav, but that uses maps in the cloud, and won't work when I vacation in remote mountain areas with no data service. The app I am installing uses maps on the SD card.

Since I NEVER, EVER leave my phone in the car, my navigation appliance will not get stolen that way again.

update: well i forgot all about the mirror thing. When i was getting ready for work this morning i heard a loud crash outside and instantly knew what it was. Some jerkoff "fell asleep" and veered off the road into the back of my wifes truck (totalled) and the force of that pushed my car a good 25 feet up the road. Rear bumper of mine, rear passenger qp and door are way outta line. Both passenger side rims dragged along the curb, and the front bumper dinged up from hitting the car in front of me. Id say this car doesnt have good luck. fml

Holy poop; you've got some unfortunate luck -- glad you guys weren't in the car at the time.

pics to come... 5 minutes later i would have been either sitting in it, or crossing behind it to get into to go to work..

hers and the sleey guy...the passenger side also hit that phone pole and knocked it out of its place in the ground..

and the distance it was pushed, im standing where i parked it... does anyone know if there could be tranny damage from me leaving it parked in 1st gear with the e-brake on and it being rolled that far?

uhhh yeah i'd have to say you might have some tranny damage. i know if it were an auto you'd def have damage. i'd suggest getting it fully checked out, of course thanks to the person who fell asleep's insurance.

That would suck bigtime..and i hope theres no damage that would cause a possible loss or salvage...

Drunks suck...

About 7 years ago I walked out of my front door on the way to work and found some drunk had slammed into my car. The pictures show it, it's about 50 feet away from where I parked it. Dude actually bounced of my car and stopped about 5 feet away from my wifes new (at the time) Honda Element. You could tell by the skidmarks, and only by the skidmarks because the schmuck actually was able to drive off.

It's hard to tell in the pic, but the passenger side fender is moved out about 4" from where it should be.

We have a driveway, but it was torn up the previous day for sidewalk repair. This happend the first night I had to park the car on the street.

I hope you find a decent shop to fix your speed, keep us posted on how the repairs go.

if it makes you feel any better I somehow drove directly into a curb this morning. I was like OH ****, as the bottom of my car scraped it pretty good. I was in a parking lot going to a coffee shop, and this huge street sweeper was blocking the ramp so I tried to take a quick turn..... without noticing the curb right there. o well :P

damn nypz... I moved from Jersey 4 years ago, and based on what happened to my Galant the first day I brought it home, I would never have purchased my MS3 while still living there. This idiot and his friends jumped on the hood of my car, just because I had to tell them to get their car out of my assigned parking spot - I was neighborly about it. Woke up the next morning with the hood seriously caved in and scratches on the left fender where they slid off the car.

Jersey cops didn't do a thing about it... Luckily, he was evicted a few days later!

People truly SUCK HARD!

This thread is full of god-awful FAIL!

This is what I woke up to two weeks after I bought my '09 CWP MS3.

$1000 worth of damage.
Wasn't even registered yet. Cops came, asked me for a plate number, and I just shrugged.
NO FAIR!!

ugh i feel for you man, it really hurts! Esp when its not even registered yet..ouch. I should have my baby back on wed morning.

Yeah my experience with Jersey cops hasn't been so great. When I was about 15 years old I woke up in the middle of the night after hearing what I thought was a bomb going off. Woke my parents up cause when I looked out the window all i saw was smoke and a kid stumbling around like a moron. Turns out it was a driver who supposedly just fell asleep going fast enough to make my dads parked 94 mustang do a 180. Cops show up and he got off with reckless driving. Effing BS, you could smell his breath from a mile away. Must have known somebody in the force. Must be nice right?

At least you're getting yours fixed! Mine's still like that because I don't have the $750 deductible yet! SOON! SOON!!
