MAZDASPEED Sway Bar Question

I always keep checking...lol. Looking at struts and coils now...lol. By the way, justanother MP5 you just have a sick setup. I'm looking to get something that can handle as well as yours although I'm sticking with a NA setup.

Exactly, that way the sway bar ends won't sag or rub your trailing links. I still want a how to from somebody who has the front Racing Beat Sway Bar tho...lol. Or at least knowledge of what parts I need to grab...lol.
As long as the front sway bar comes with the stock MSP/MP3 bushing and brackets, it's a direct bolt in.

I'm trying to do a Racing Beat rear sway bar install, and I'm a little lost as to what parts are needed from AWR. Which horseshoe brackets are needed to bolt onto the AWR mounting brackets? Which size bushing do I need?

^^^So you are doing a Racing Beat bar with AWR brackets???

I used the stock ones that came with it as well as Energy Suspension Bushings...

I am having the same issue. All I know is that the bushing size is 19mm, for now I'm using the factory hardware. I think these are the brackets we need:

And bushings:

I already have the bushings but really need to get the brackets soon.

There have been several threads here about the negative effects of understeer or oversteer doing the front swaybar on the P5. Never did mine, feels prefectly balanced with progress rr & oem P5 front. Also no piece of cake install either IIRC. Check around for those threads and see if it's even worth messin with to ya would be my suggestion.

You need the bracket from a MP3/MSP. In the first attached pic, you can see that the stock P5 bracket will not fit over the 20mm AWR bushing. In the second pic, you can see that the MP3/MSP bracket fits over it fine. (Note the second pic is of a DIY clunk fix mount- it is not stock).

I can get better comparison pics tonight, as I have both brackets AND both crossmembers.

Try to find someone parting out an MP3/MSP and get them to sell you the brackets. Only took me a year to find someone... haha... Good luck!

Sway bar bracket mystery revealed

Some seriously big pictures here- deal with it. (bird)
EDIT- pictures resized.

P5 stock bracket on left, MP3/MSP on right (with AWR urethane bushing)

The P5 bushing is clearly smaller- I think it is 17mm, and I know the MSP is 20mm:

Not only is the bracket itself smaller, the mounting holes do NOT line up the same:

The stock P5 crossmember has a both a stud and a threaded hole. The MP3/MSP rear crossmember had two threaded holes:

The stock P5 bracket obviously lines up just fine on the P5 crossmember:

The MP3/MSP bracket will NOT line up fine on the P5 crossmember:

______________
Conclusion-

If you want to use the RacingBeat 20mm sway bar and the AWR 20mm urethane bushings, then you must get the MP3/MSP brackets to use them. In doing so, you must get the MP3/MSP rear crossmember OR get AXR Clunk Fix brackets OR make your own clunk fix brackets.

Obviously, this info is specific to the RacingBeat bar. You can (and should) expect that other vendors would supply the appropriate mounting kits for their sway bars.
