Just finished MSP turbo install on MP3 & Bogging hard! HELP

OMG I might know exactly what your problem.

If your maf broken?

If your maf on backwards?

I had the same exact problem after installing my Turbolife FMIC. My maf was on backwards.

just talked to the dude at protegegarage but he said it will be a week untill he gets any more ss afc in. I was hoping to get this taken care of faster so if anyone knows someone selling one please PM me.
I wish I could say my MAF was backwards but thats no it. It facing the same direction I took it off in before the turbo install.
I have 2 things to check and follow up on...one is if the stock wga arm has been tampered with before I got it, and secondly I forgot to remove my anti-fouler mil/cel eliminator when I did the install so I wanna do that. (incase your not familiar this is the method of restricting the signal to the 02 sensor once adding on a performance header and eliminating the cat in the oem NA downpipe, easily done by adding 2 certain sized nuts before the o2 bung) Not sure this would really affect it but I have some down time on my hands till I can get my hands on a ss afc unit. money isnt the issue...its time. Im not a patient dude...

im gonna go ahead and get a new wga also ZUKU26 just as a backup plan incase the ss afc doesnt cure my issue. (thanks for the idea) Im assuming I shoudnt be driving my car while its cutting out and bogging down so bad huh??

There's an arrow on the side of the MAF which indicates air flow. As long as the arrow is pointing towards the throttle body, you're good on that front.

It's a good thing that money is not an issue as that lends itself well to the process of replacing parts just for the sake of it. Do yourself a favor and get a boost gauge so you can see what psi you are producing. And you can drive the car w/o going into boost and producing your driveability issue.

boost gauge has been bought, will be here on friday according to tracking. If I see anything sparatic about the boost levels Ill let you guys know....

hey i forgot no one addressed my vaccuum question....off hand do you guys know if I should have any other lines other than my wga and bov??? that all I got running. Someone told me about a boost level solenoid or something to that affect...never heard of one??

I agree. I am planning an inspection of the smaller components since I am fairly sure they have not been looked at for a LONG time. My list contains:

Motor mounts
Spark plugs
Coil packs
Brakes
EGR

That's all I can remember off the top of my head. I know they aren't related to your boosting problem, but since you are going from MP3 power to MSP power, I would suggest a small brake upgrade atleast. If I remember correctly, the MSP came with slightly better brakes than the other 3rd gens.

Good luck :)

it connects off of your fpr at the end of your fuel rail. it should have a vac line off the intake manifold

off topic...yes , but to direct your comment my brakes have long been upgraded. Nothing serious but I do have cross drilled and slotted rottors along with hawk pads and steel braided lines. But thanks for the intended help, always welcome man. By the way...MP3 power??? what power? I went turbo for a reason.

ok well I dont have any vac comig off my manifold or any kinda boost solenoid. does any one have clear pics of a setup. Im running my 2 vac lines to a vac block T-ed into the brake booster line, not sure if that matters.

I know Honda eat_R mentioned the JoeP FCD...I and many members here don't recomend it, at least for this situation. It's basically going to mask the actual problem instead of fix. Some are running it simply because they need it to fully tune there cars in.
As far as brakes upgrade, I was always under the impression that the MP3 was just a MSP without the turbo....Since the "mazdaspeed" dealer book are shared for both

Nope, the MSP has bigger calipers and rotors. The springs and struts are also different. Similar, but different.

If he's getting fuel cut due to weather or boost levels, there's no reason to not get it. You just need to have what's called "self control"... If there is another issue causing something like fuel cut then Yes, you need to find the problem.

pictures are really big sorry. hopefully it helps you see everything. some people have the solenoid on the firewall if its not in the same place as mine.
