Can someone please help me understand offset? I have a 2007 speed3 and i am really stoked on these wheels, Mrr gt1's , and the shop i am going through can only get them in 18x8.5 with a 38 offset, he said he might be able to get them in 18x7.5 with a 38 offset, i am gong to wrap them in 225/40/18, and i am also going to lower the car with H&R sport springs, i have read in a few forums that with 18x8 with a 45 offset and 225/40/18 tires on a speed3 with H&R sport springs that there will be no rubbing issues in the back, so i am just wondering with the setup i explained will i have issues, i don't mind if i have to roll the fenders a bit, but don't want to get to out of hand with it, please let me know, thanks alot guys

The lower the offset number, the more the wheels sticks out from the wheel center. 18x8 +45 is safe for our cars.

Hope that helps.

I ended up getting MRR GT1's 18x7.5 with a 48 offset, and the tires are 225/40/18, will this set up rub in the rear quarters with H&R springs, they are in the mail as well, thanks for your help

You mentioned +38 in your first post for the 7.5" wheel. Now you are saying it is +48. If +48 is wrong please update. A 225 on a +48 wheel will be 9.5mm closer to the fender. I am running a 215 on a +40 wheel which makes me 12.5mm closer to the fender and I have never rubbed. I am on coilovers however. You should be fine.

With +48...your good. With +38....you should still be good since its only a 7.5'' wheel

thanks for the help

I ended up buying a set of MRR GT1's which are 18x7.5 with a 48 offset, and a set of falken FK452 in 225/40/18, H&R springs are in the mail, super stoked to get it all installed, i apreciate the quick replys.
