Air bags??????

and this guy/girl is still alive? sucks to see that.
My son was in the car so I couldn't do a thing. i was doing 35 didn't even tap the brakes. If I wasn't wearing a seat belt i would have got f..... up. I know it was off set but the main support behind the bumper, it is some sort of metal tubing was flattened.

This as well..Not to mention th hit doesnt look to be that hard...From that angle if it didnt get the frame, which from looking at your pics looks to be unscathed.....They wouldn't go off either.

are you saying your air bag didn't deploy? my car doesn't look that much different from yours and mine deployed, and i think mine was at less speed than yours. although i think mine looks slightly more frontal and yours looks a little more off to the side

mine never deployed either when i wrecked my car..although i hit a tree not a car 
SOmething was a factor for it not to deploy....The SRS sytems are pretty smart these days.
They are not cheap to replace...so we dont need them going off if they wont help in the type of crash you're being involved in.
Not to mention..If you have never been in a crash where the airbag deploys...Its not Fun....Its loud, fast, dust goes everywhere and they can cause burns to your skin.
They have their pros and cons.

Yes...Yes they can.....
Imagine the speed they deploy at....Now inagine that rubbing against your skin at that speed.
Yes it can cause severe burns that sometime scar...But the flip side is your alive to see them.
actually have the system checked out whch i'm sure the shop will do...but my progressive guy said that airbags only deploy about 50% of the time when the system 'fires' if that makes since...and if it does fire and not deploy...the whole system still needs replaced
The system knows whether you have your seatbelt on your not. The threshold for deploying the bags is lower if you aren't wearing your seatbelt. So no belts may have equaled air bags going off for this exact same crash.
So you are telling us that the frame is tweaked a little and they are not totaling the car? What insurance company you have.
That car will never drive the same.

insurance companies don't care if the car drives right again, that problem belongs to the shop that would end up fixing it
mine got totalled because the estimated cost of repairs ended up being around %75 of the car's value. once that number is approached, the insurance company doesn't really want to fix it, so they total it. and if they had decided to go ahead an fix it, and it didn't drive right, it would've ended up being fixed again with the shop's dollar.
Where did he say the frame was tweaked? No way in hell would that have tweaked the frame. The whole front assembly gets replaced. It's independent from the rest of the car.
