12,000k coming soon, if anyone has found any good "how to" threads for HID kits please post them up, because i haven't really found anything helpful. If not i'll figure it out and post my own proper how to.

I just ordered a 5000k Apexcone kit from RPM, as soon as they are in, i will post a how-toish thing. With before and after pics. I am currently running Sylvania Ultra Stars. I believe that the 35w HID kit will also bring less draw on the car then my 55w bulbs. I hate it when the fan kits in and my lights "click" hopefully that wont happen anymore.

I have yet to notice any "click" of the lights. I can still see it just a Tiny bit in the fogs, cause those are still halogen, but, HID's stay strong!

As to a How-to, there is one in the How-To section. But, it's really easy. Find a spot to mount your ballast, plug in the ballast and bulbs and mount bulbs in headlights. Aim headlights down. You're done

Now get some better lights for your fogs an you'll be set. Lookin good so far!

Black'd out wife's headlights and installed he new TechOne kit 4000K from Protophile. I gotta get some night shots now to compare my ApexCone 4300K kit to her 4000K kit. Eitherway, she's not so jealous of my car now that she's got black headlights and HIDs now. There really is no comparing these to stock

Yesterday I went thru a self car wash and there is an old pickup truck with aftermarket projector headlight, a whole unit...I started wondering...why there isn't any aftermarket company build one for our P5?

Kinda off topic...just a thought...

You're not the first to wonder this. It seems the Pro5 has been overlooked on alot!! No diecast Protege5's. Only one other design of aftermarket tails, just in chrome, cf, and black. No aftermarket headlights. Minimal hoods available. No hatches. It just isn't fair!!

Another HID angle - Noticed my stock 55W halogens have slightly but definitely kinda melted/damaged the reflector, like right above the bulb, from the heat. (No I never upped the wattage beyond 55W bulbs) I'm thinking HIDs with lower wattage and being much more efficient run a ton cooler. So they can preserve the lamp - saving a bunch of $ and hassle.

Are you putting HID's in an already melted housing? Glare is not your friend. Also, HID's, even at 55watts will run cooler than halogens. I was searching around before installing a kit in an 06 civic, and a guy had a temp gun and the Hid's ran almost ten degreees F cooler

I have a silly question.... how do you adjust the aim of the head lights? I just installed HID lights on my wife's P5 but I need to aim them down a bit but I don't know where the adjustments are. Thanks.

look for the brass screws on the back of the light. If you can't find it its in the manual. I think its left to go down and right to go up
