Quick Paint.Net (chop) of what I plan on doing to my future white speed

1. Custom front grill
2. Headlight amber reflectors delete
3. Side door moldings delete
4. Exposed B pillar paint
5. Vinyl up rear windows
6. Complete rear debadging (not seen on pic)
7. Drop + ebay wheels ??? (DZ Wheels Lima, TE37 copy)

I'd probably strip out the tape from the pillars but not all around.
The rear window could be see-through vinyl, although I'm not completely sold on this "mod" yet.

EDIT: I added a second chop redesigning the rear window (black vinyl I guess) and adding a touch of white along the doors which gives the car a more aggressive stance by "lowering" the windows.

I think the wheels could be hyper black, I'm not sure. They also have silver or gold but with machined lip, it looks like. I'm glad you like your wheels because being as inexpensive as they are I was afraid about their quality. How much would you say yours weigh and what's their size?

Not sure how much the weight of each rims is. I purchased mine from a guy on Craigslist who had bought them, and was going to put them on a BMW. He got tight for cash, and sold them to me for about $350.00. Brand new never had been used or mounted. All I had to do was get tires.

This is what i found of EBAY for DZ Wheels....

take a look at wheelsnext and buywheelstoday, and of course the discounttire guys as well as tirerack.

You should be able to find a nice wheel to fit your needs.

Ideally, you'd be able to fit a 18x7.5 in a 45mm offset or higher, or even better a 18x8 in a 49-50mm offset or so. The 18x7.5 will hold a 235/40-18 but you may have to roll the fenders a tiny bit.

I would NOT do the rear pillar mod, as that is a safety issue. Might as well rip out your rearview mirror. Hundreds of times I've used those small windows to clear a blind-spot visually. Maybe consider to tint them heavily instead?

I'm not too keen on the B pillar delete, since with tinted windows the black trim looks great. Also, you're fudging with things that may affect aerodynamics a bit. I don't have proof on this one, just a hunch.

The front grill idea is golden, and I'm going to attempt the same soon. But I'm going with black to keep it stealth. No rice.

I also wouldn't delete the amber thing, since that means you also are disabling a safety feature. Just for resale purposes.

Remember, these cars look great AS-IS with just a nice drop, wheel package, and some careful attention to detail like quality tint, and maybe a front splitter.

I have shopped around a bit for wheels. It's nice to have so many options, I was pleased to find that out.

Completely agree with on the blind spot issue. I don't know how well see-through vinyl would do the trick since it probably works best when looking through it straight on, as opposed to from the side...

As far as the reflectors go, I can always tell the next person that buys from me to stick an amber reflector on the bumper if they are worried!

The options decay quickly if you are after a wheel that actually improves performance of the vehicle. Ideally, we need an 8.0" wheel, with a 235 to 245 /40-18 tire, and we need it as light as possible. To do this, we need a very high offset, which makes getting a wheel very tricky afterall.

Fender rolling is definitely an option for me so I'm not afraid of going with offsets closer to 40. I really like when the fender hugs the tire though.

Sorry guys I didn't mean this thread to go towards a wheel discussion but more towards exterior mods instead. (One last note, the DZ Wheels are 18lbs each according to the seller).

I am surprised not to see more exposed B pillar paint around.

don't do the b pillar paint matching, nor the rear window vinyl. the vinyl will not match perfectly no matter what, and the b-pillars flow alot better with all the windows as black, esp if they're tinted. starts at the black mirror base and is like one piece all the way to the rear quarter windows.

i'd definitely like some sort of grille to be out, like an autoexe style without the middle portion.

and i wouldn't mind getting inside the headlight and smoke tinting (would have ot use the spray tint with how jagged that reflector looks) or removing it altogether, but i'm not fond of cracking into brand new headlights (i would paint the projector trim ring black as well - maybe even portion of the high beam but not the reflector area)

Amazing... someone actually uses Paint.net? I am glad to use The GIMP after that atrocity.
