Heres a few picks of my new motor mount and my old one that i discovered has a large split in it. I have never taken this car to the track...... Notice the split in the original ?

really??? its like half way across the mount . I would think it would cause mis shifts at least . It doesn't mis shift anymore now that i got a new one in .

Well it might (and that's a big might as your case is still minute)cause the shifts to feel slightly tougher to engage as the engine rocks back and forth a little more, but mis-shifts? I doubt it. People are putting way too much blame on the mounts. Mis-shifts occur when you place (or force) the leaver into the wrong gate. It happens to some people on the best transmissions.

you could actually push the clutch all the way to the floor and try to put it in 2nd and it would go GRCLUNKUNKKUNKKUNKUNKUNKUNKUNKUNK. At high 4600-5600 revs. Does not do it anymore . maybe it was a fluke issue from the factory . they fixed the motor mount recall afterwards also .

Oh I've never quite enjoyed a car as much as this one . it has been a blast I was really depressed when it was in the shop .

ha thats funny... i split on of those AWR mounts you got there, not just a little the bushing was in multiple pieces !! good luck with that....

i tore up a 70 duro, but was given an 88 as a replacement. i removed the 88 after a few thousand miles and it was noticably damaged. it did not rip but the poly was all distorted.

the issue is not that the rear mount is not stiff enough.... the real issue are the other 2 main motor mounts that are too soft.... if the ******* aftermarket companies would just quit thinking that the motor just rocks back and forth instead of twisting left and right also (which places a lot of stress on those mounts) and make upgraded main mounts also, everything will be ok

by upgrading only one mount, you place too much stress on one mount or the upgraded mount itself

that is true thats why i advise everyone to stay away from mounts with HUGE bushings shoved in a stock mount... it wont hold up if you drive like me !! get the TRZ mount and beat it as hard as you can it wont break. adding side mounts will help.. it will also make your car feel like a HARLEY DAVIDSON... can you say rattle, rattle !! a lower mount and torque damper is the way to go. once someone releases a kit for a damper i will have one !!
