MS3 stock spoiler

Mazdaspeed3
does anybody know if the stock spoiler for the ms3 is effective or not? if so at what speed is it deemed effective and so on. ive tried to search and cant come up with anything.

Ok...what brought this up is some guy that started working at my job....

bare with me here....

one day me and a few buddies of mine were walking outside to show each other some recent mods we did on our cars when we saw this nissan 350z. it looked pretty nice until we saw this monstrosity on the rear of the car. now by all means the spoiler on the ms3 isnt all that small.....but this dudes spoiler was an airplane wing. i swear...if he hit over 100 the thing would take off. theres no way in all of living earth that spoiler would do a damn thing but make your car look like garbage.

that brought up my thought....since the ms3 spoiler is decent sized for the car its on...does it actually work at a given speed? i hope its not for looks because that would be so entirely horribly stttuuuuuupid. (ricer)

i can only somewhat verify that the wing improves aerodynamic efficiency... i read that the fascia, reworked front fenders, venturis in front of the front wheels, the lower ride height, and the wing improve efficiency from a standard 3's .33 coefficient of drag to .32 for the Speed3. only somewhat verified because its possible that the wing detracts from the improvements the other aero peices make and with out the wing, there might be less drag.

off subject: a pro for a speed3 sedan (never gonna happen) would be that the base sedan has .32 compared to the .33 of the standard 5 door. i would buy a speed3 sedan in an instant... lighter, better looking, more aerodynamic, less road noise, and the list goes on.

It's purely a cosmetic enhancement to set it apart from any 'lesser' 3 hatch. If it does actually produce any downforce, it happens at speeds that 99% of owners rarely achieve when they're not on a high speed oval.

heres the wing from douche bag at work. pound him if you like. i think this wing is funny as all hell.

yea so its pretty much like any other spoiler on any other car. you need to be traveling at 80 or above to get any form of performance from the stock spoiler.

i swear i saw him fly above like....an hour ago

EDIT: borla tips...no actual exhaust change. automatic. 8000lb rims. (though they look cool.) good thing his z went from 0-60 in 5.5 to 0-60 in 6.8. assmonkey.
