Buying these wheels...

OK, so I Plan on pulling the trigger on these in the next few days. They're 17x7, fyi.

I just wanted to post these here and get some quick feedback before I do. Of all the reviews I've read... I'd say at least 98% are positive, with what sounds like some farely "flukey" disasters being reported here and there.

They are super cheap, and thus super appealing to me. Haha...

I was just wondering if any of you fellas had any experience with them or know of any issues, etc... I thought it would be better to ask first, rather then posting a few days from now about some wheels i just bought... and having someone have a horror story.

They are Flik wheels, which is a brand that is (to my knowledge) sold exclusively by edgeracing.com. I realize that they are an off-brand, but I have spent a couple weeks reading reviews and other forums, and I'm hearing good things.

Sorry for the long post... and thanks for any help.

...and also sorry to double-post... but I thought I'd show this picture of the wheel on a Scion tC. I think they look pretty hot.

OK BYE!

I read a post on another forum complaining that the finish isn't that durable, but that was for the 5-spoke Flik, FWIW.

I guess that's one of the most oft-cited problems. I don't know... some say they are great, and some say that the finish is a little weak. To be fair... all of the reviews that I've read saying the finish is sub-par are from forums dated over 2 years ago.

Maybe they've gotten their stuff together in the last 2 years??

I'm wondering if I should just go with the same wheel in silver... but I do quite enjoy the gloss black with polished lip. But my car is silver... so silver on silver might still look like sex in the pants. Haha... at the same time, though... I'm kind of going for a silver and black theme.

Decisions, decisions.

Any thoughts?

For reference...

Personally, I hate polished lips on dark wheels.

And I have also heard about the Flik finish problems.

i prefer the silver on a silver car, i think the black/polished lip/silver car is too much. black with the polished lip looks best on black cars and dark greys.

Dang it... SOMEONE say black!! Haha.

Are Bala's 17's? Those are quite nice, indeed...

Eh? EHHHHH?!

Please excuse the crappy 2-minute photoshop job. I gotta say... I really don't hate it.

Ahhh! You made Bala's rims disappear! I dig silver rims because you can actually see them. :)

And he runs 18s.

Haha.

I like both... but I think I might still go black. Is that a cardinal sin 'round here? I would probably go silver if I had a red, blue, or yellow finish... but the fact that the car itself is silver makes me want a bit more than standard silver wheels. I like the contrasted look of black on silver, plus with the lip, you can still see how big the wheel is.

I guess I feel like the black wheels will look pretty slick alongside the black trimwork on the car, the black powdercoated rotors I'll be getting, and with the caliper that I'll be painting black.

Of course not to say that I dislike the silver at all... but I think I just prefer the black thiiiiiiiis much.

I find black rims with a polished lip looks amazing when rolling. Especially at highway speeds. And remember, once you go black, you never go back!

Matt

Yay! Finally some love for the black & lip combo!!

Haha... but seriously... I appreciate everyone's input. Ya'll are making this hard as frickin heck for me. But I suppose it's better to think about it now, and make sure I'll be happy with my choice.

So thanks to all who've responded.... more input is certainly welcome!

They do look hot with the right theme goin on. Always looks like your goin fast even when stopped.
