planning on lowering

so im looking at the racing beat springs, for the modest drop of less then an inch, but there preformance addition.
but on a car that has 90k miles on it, i might was well replace the struts, and i saw that tokico HP series comes with springs and struts for 500 bucks.

it sounds like a pretty good deal. anyone else have any other suggestions of what they run, or what they think i should run? coilovers is out of the question, because i dont have the funds, nor are the really applicable for my purpose.

golly im excited to lower my car

Tokico springs: 1.25" drop (sedan--P5 sits a bit lower in the rear), 185lb/in front, 145-200lb/in rear. Way stiffer than Racing Beat springs.

Some quick tips:
-If you're serious about handling, make sure at least the front springs are linear.
-Do not put MSP springs on your car unless you use the corresponding MSP struts (0000-8M-C14).
-Springs designed for the sedan make the P5 sag a bit in the rear.
-Use MSP bumpstops.
Did I forget anything?

So I take it i have P5 bumpstops already? Im about to put megan racing springs on my ride, do i need anything else? sorryto thread jack

You have a P5, you have P5 bumpstops. Those Megan springs are extremely stiff--280, 230 lb/in! You'll need Tokico Illuminas to damp them properly. HPs won't cut it.

I PM'ed you so i dont have to thread jack

naw its cool. i wanna see waht other people think about strut spring combinations.

i can live with a 1 and a quarter drop.

so i should use MSP bumbstops for any spring/strut combination?

From memory, these rates seem very similar to the RB (the ones they've emailed me)...

Jim Langer at Racing Beat told me they're 162 lb/in front, 111-190 rear.

get some PB blaster or other favorite penetrator (upbum) and soak your endlinks over night, do it multiple times to help make remove much easier. the pattented Altspace method of endlink removal involves working the endlink bolts back and forth for awhile. He did this on my p5 (2 in 1 day) and we were able to get them off without cutting.

P5's look soooo much better when there's little to no wheel gap

what are the corresponding struts? hp blues?

No! HPs are not the same as MSP struts!

1. Different valving (HPs are tighter)
2. Different rear spring perch location.

Editing previous post for clarity.
