They look sweet on that Z but on FWD/AWD offset (like the front wheels on the Z) that cool look is mostly lost.. the wheel still looks really cool though, they look awesome on the Mazda5
Ok, so the stock RX-8 rims are 18x8+50 correct? According to this calculator going with 18x7.5+43 is only 1mm farther out than the RX-8 rims. That makes the 48 offset version 4mm farther in. I'm not afraid of rolling the fenders a little and I'll be putting 215s on the wheels to start so maybe the 43s will be the right choice...(assuming I lower the car so it doesn't look even more like a monster truck).
The Enkei with the +38 offset was a 7" rim. It would be 1mm in from the RX8 wheels. However, the rim is only half the problem. A 215 tire on a 18x7+38 rim will stick out much farther than a 215 tire on a 18x8+50 rim. So if I were to go with one of those 7" options I'd prolly be better off with 205s...and I'm not about to do that.
Now, I'm pretty sure the guy in the photo below has 18x7.5 +43 5zigen wheels with 225/40R18 tires. I sent him a PM over at Mazda 6 club to verify it. He's got the AutoEXE springs. If I can get that stance with the 5zigen Gravis 1 rims...I'll be a happy camper
I'm also liking Exel Ennio 18x8+45 $583 (Hyper Light or Silver).
FWIW, I don't like the designs with fake "bolts" or rivets or whatever those are. I feel they busy-up the lip/circumference of the wheel too much. Therefore, I don't like:
Kazera KZ-S (although the rest of the wheel is pretty clean)
NEX-O M20 18x7.5+45
Enkei CDR9
Enkei RS6
Rogue has the Ennio wheels (with custom mazda center caps so they look more stealthy) on his classic red P5.. it's not velocity red but it's close
I'll see if I can find some pics
edit:
I know you said you weren't looking for a dark colored wheel but here they are:
I think those 5-zigens that you photoshopped on look GREAT though. I think the spokes on the Ennios are too thin for a bigger car... but then again, MS6freek (or is it 'freak' I dunno) has really thin spoke wheels (look like the wheels I have) on his MS6 and they look amazing. At the offset you have to run on the 5zigens they do loose the cool dished out look but they're still great looking wheels. They look like they have a machined aluminum face too, which I like (that's how the wheels on my truck are)
Actually, comparing the Ennio and Mazdaspeed wheels side by side, they are virtually identical. However, I'm not sure what the finish is like on the Ennios. Rogue's wheels above are the gunmetal version I'm guessing. I would like to see silver and hyper light on a car before making a decision about them.
18x8+45 gunmetal ennio on 215/45/18 (stock tire size)
These will probably rub when lowered though. They don't have 18x7.5 but they do have 18x7. I doubt they have 18x8+50 so I'd be best off getting the +45s and rolling the fenders if they start rubbing.
