on their website when u click on like the mazdaspeed protege stuff...are the cams and adj. cam gears upgrades for the mazdaspeed or are they the stock cams in the mazdaspeed? i knowt he cam gears are upgrades. thanks a lot

SRMotorsports is weird.. they have some blatant lies (well possibly not intentional) about products on their site. There's no such thing as a mazdaspeed cam set. The MSP has the exact same cams as every other 2.0 FS-DE protege.

There are a few things that cam set could be..
1. an FS-ZE intake cam and a stock intake cam re-pinned to work as an exhaust cam.
2. an FS-ZE intake cam and a Mazdaspeed exhaust cam (not likely.. unless they got someone to remake some mazdaspeed exhaust cams for them.. they seem to be a really rare item).
3. stock Protege cams

well, they're not stock...trust me. when i took them off my car, i noticed a HUGE difference. blitzd can back me up on this. my p5 could hang with his stock msp from a roll until he hit mid-way through 3rd gear.

was it a roll in 3rd gear? you probably kept up until he hit boost

not hatin on the cams though. I have the FS-ZE intake cam myself, I didn't really notice a difference but I'm sure now that I have lots of other mods I'd notice if I removed it. That's how the MP3 ECU was for me too..

no, it was a slow 1st gear roll...and yeah, he was in boost for such a long time in 3rd, there was nothing i could do.

i have no idea what the specs on them are, but they are pretty good cams.

lol...i understand. i've dealt with them a couple of times and i have no complaints...you can't please everyone all of the time. it sucks you had a bad experience with the shocks (iirc)

They misrepresented the item they were selling and originally wanted to charge me a 15% restocking fee to return a set of KYB gr2 struts.

After my complaints to BBB and the manager, they agreed to refund me (minus the shipping fee). Also they changed the pics or the struts from the green mazdaspeed struts to a photoshopped green strut without any labels or adjustment knobs.

Calling the CS at SRmotorsport was frustrating because their TECH support knew nothing about the protege and INSISTED that there were no such thing as the green Mazdaspeed struts even after I showed him the pics on his site.

Mazdaspeed cams were offered for the 2.0Ls long before there were even Mazdaspeed Proteges in production.

Exactly. There are Mazdaspeed cams available, not MSP cams which are the same as a normal Pro. No complaints fro me about them. Just ordered said cams and got them today.

have had them for a while now, made a nice differnece when i was NA. Now that i am boosted, they definetly make a good pull up top. BTW, here are the specs for stock,fsze, and jdm mazdaspeed cams. From what i can gather, its the fsze intake cam, and the fsze intake cam reppined to be an exhaust cam. That is what their cams are. The JDM mazdaspeed exhaust cam is almost the same as the fsze intake cam, so they are close to being true mazdaspeed cams. Regardless, you are going to make better power with them.
