Hi
How do you replace the front fog light bulbs on the Protege5(Sport 20) front bumper ? I assume u need to remove the plastic by the wheel arch to access it since u cant access it by opening the bonnet ??

Thank you

There's one bolt holding them in that you can get at if you use a long handled wrench. Then just undo the clip holding the wires in place so you can unplug the harness

Thank you that guide was VERY useful i just changed my fog light bulbs to some yellow Polarg ones, didn take long couldnt of done it with out help from this forum ! the only thing was that i had to hit that blue clip in rather than use the flathead screw driver as stated on the guide !

Pics to follow once i feel bit better since i went out till early hours of new years eve & LOTS to drink, here in England we are some hours ahead (about 6/7 hours)of you guys in USA while were recovering in bed youre probably still partying !

Thanks again & happy new yr 07 !

Where's the pics? I'm thinking of swapping the fog bulbs to yellow as well. Do our fogs really make that big a difference?

good god man have you never driven at night?

lol yeah, the light from the fog lights is pretty bright unless you accidently install the fog lights upside down. i had a friend that did that, and he couldnt even tell if they were on or not. they were on, just pointing upwards instead of down.

forgot to mention a friend of mine has a gtp that requires h3 bulbs in his fog lights. he bought his from autoillumination.com (or something like that) and said they gave him a good deal.

its damn near impossible to install our H3's wrong. It has that little notch cut out of the base.

yeah, but there are some dumb people out there. its not the notch on the bottom. but when you put the lens back on after you replace the bulb, this guy put the lens on upside down.

The only visible light I can tell with my fogs on is within 2 feet of the front left bumper. Are the fogs adjustable? They might be aimed wrong, or, installed upsidown. The fogs honostly don't do that much on my P5.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I notice the exact same thing with my car. Can hardly tell the right side light is on. I haven't played with them yet, they are adjustable up and down. Not really side to side though.

Are those the factory fogs? And, when you say the little shield, do you mean inside the light? As to adjusting the fogs, is it the bolt that is visible when looking under the bumper? Or, is there an adjuster somewhere else? Thanks in advance

damn that throws a nice amount of light, i might have to try that. It doesn't help either that my car is lowered on a forwards rake so the front is pointed down a bit.

Thanks mang,

Matt

Those are the factory fogs with PIAA yellow H3's. This is as simple as can be. When you go to replace the bulb, remove the buld and stick your finger inside of the hole and bend that inside shield up.

seems simple enough. I appreciate the how-to. I'm defintely going to be doing this!

Might be a stupid question, but, how hihgh up do I bend the shield? All the way? Don't want to bend it too far, cause, looks difficult to bend back down.

Im guessing, but Id have to say that I bent it up about 3/4 of the way or so. I guess I was thinking the same thing, that if I messed it uo Id have the fish something in there and pull it up. Knowing what I do now I would have bent it up all the way, but my PIAA's havent burned out, so there is no need for me to bend them some more.
