AWR rear sway bar tight setting

just wanted some opinions on what you'd consider the "right" setting for the bar. does anybody really use the tightest setting (between the links?)??

I used to use it between the lateral links, but once I got my 450lbs rear springs it was way too tight. It will depend on your spring rates and what tires you have.

I'd vote for extreme oversteer over any hit of understeer. While my driving style is heavy on grip (duh, I drive a FF car) I still like some braking slides if needed.

I can spin the car out by looking at it funny now. I've got the sway bar set to the extreme loose side now and she is still a little tight on my 205 series tires. I'll be switching to 225 series with a little more rear camber in the near future so I'm not ready to lower my rear spring rate just yet.

i see. safe to say AWR@loosest setting is still way stiffer than the stock bar?

Not really, it's a little more than stock. I like it about 6" from the end of the bar. It's still safe for street if you don't drive like a maniac. Does really nice for auto-x when I set the illuminas up to 5.

OG i see you've adjusted it a few times. are the screws giving any trouble as someone had mentioned earlier in another post?

I would not bother. It places a much larger load on the mounts..

I have not had any trouble with the screws at all. I'm sorry, are you referring the rust problem these screws have? If so, the reason mine are ok is, I WD-40 everything once in awhile to keep thing quiet. Everyone says how noisy these end links are, but mine are pretty quiet.

Brian, try and move the setting in between the lateral links sometime. It makes a HUGH difference. I had mine set up like your, and when the suspension would re-bound, the sway bar would hit the top of the lateral link. Making some serious clunk sounds. Just a thought...

finally installed the bar today. I drive on a windy road near my house here the car feels pleasantly different. the back pivots a lot nicer now and the annoying squeeking is gone (but not the cluncking).

of course thanks for the advice above it made for a relatively easy install

I have my links in virtually the same position as Brians and I get clunking only when pulling into my driveway or taking steep ramps at odd angles...other than that, hard driving and daily driving produce ZERO clunks

Mine took longer to get the car up on jack stands and the wheels off than it did to get the stock end links off.

Now I need to figure our how to mount the adjustable endlinks to the stock struts and to the SRMororsports 19mm sway bar.
