Had a guy in Trenton, NJ make me a custon stainless steel 2.5" exhaust for my Spool kit. I used a 2.5" high flow cat that I got from Spool ITS, and a 2.5" straight 6" round Thermal R&D muffler and a 3" tip that I got from Califonia Muffler (or something like that). It sounds great, it's nice and quiet, deep, and looks good. If there's enough interest, this guy may make exhaust systems specifically for Spool ITS turbo kits. If he doesn't, it's still worth driving to Trenton to have him do it if you're within 4 hours of him.

I also took videos w/ audio of the sounds, but they are .MOV (so they are oversized and crappy), so I need a place to host them if they are to be posted. But it's pretty quiet...barely louder than stock. No ricey sound.

looking good, all stainless, and that thermal tip doesn't look 3" but I guess it is =)

looks real nice.what is the name of the shop. im like 2 mins from trenton. what did the piping cost if you supplied the cat and muffler.

Yup, it's 2.5"->3". Nice and small. Our stock MP3 tips are 3.5". :-)

Also note that turbo systems have a tendency to slightly quiet down exhaust systmes.

Also folks, before we get folks in here suggesting the 3" exhaust, 2.5" is just fine for our application, and for what the turbo will be flowing.

BTW, nice system D. (thumb)

I PM'd you his info.

Man, Kool. That setup looks fantastic. I love your homemade recirc. BOV (other thread). hope you get the issues out, I asked a Q over there.

That exhaust really does look fantastic. And with the turbo and recirc. BOV you probably just get a deeper, throatier "sleeper" exhaust note than you had before, with just the best little hint of rasp.

Kind of like a girl in a short skirt, and she keeps bending over alllmost enough, hinting at what is underneath. :)

Thanks!

I have movie files of it that are too big to post (anyone got a good server?), but really it's SLIGHTLY deeper, not raspy at all, and just has a hint of burble. Overall it's probably about 5db louder than stock. Very quiet. But you hit the nail on the head, I'm going for the sleeper style. You can't hear my BOV, you can't see my FMIC unless you know it's there (I kept the stock black grill on it), and the exhaust is very quiet. I just can't wait until some car pulls up to race me and gets the shock of his life.
;)

Looks beautiful man. Great job.

As for the cost, you're going to leave the rest of us in the dark? I wish my exhaust guy was that good, but I've come to realize that I don't actually spend that much time underneath the car looking at the exhaust, and I don't plan to roll the car any time soon either, so who cares if my exhaust looks good. :) However, where can I get that muffler? Do you think it would fit on the other side? Just a question. I know it would have to be lower, but I really want to do a dual exhaust (and yes I know I don't NEED it, it isn't NECESSARY, blah, blah, I want one).

Way to go Dana!

We won't fit a muffler on each side of the car. BUT, I got my muffler from California Muffler...they have a website, but I forget the URL. It's a 6" can. They sell the tip I got too.

Hehe, here I am! Well, the whole exhaust job including piping, my muffler, my cat, and labor came to $900+. But, if there was enough interest and a jig was created by the guy who made my exhaust, and he got the muffler and cat at his cost, etc, I'm sure it would be significantly cheaper. It's worth the $.

Thanks, man!
That is a chunk of change no doubt. It looks awesome though.

In the end I"ll probably end up spending that, but at the moment I'm less, but that will change. . .new muffler and new tailpipes, plus a mod to the rear skirt. . .yada, yada, that's why it isn't done yet. Couldn't decide on a muffler. Might just have to plunk down the money for a Borla.

Get the Thermal muffler I got. I'm very happy with it. They make a 6" can or an 8" oval that will fit our cars.

Hmmm does that include downpipes? Will that system work for the MSP? Also does the mp3 have 2 cats like the MSP? Did you replace your cat with a high flow cat (becuase I do see one cat on the system..). Thanks let me know =D
